Hey guys! I'm a massive fan of the Hans Zimmer/Christopher Nolan partnership (The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception), and after performing Interstellar's themes in my last video, I thought I'd give 'Time' from Inception a try. No pun intended, but this arrangement actually did take a massive amount of time! In addition to what you see performed in the video, I sampled some percussion, recorded additional layering, had some lovely violin and keyboard samples given to me by my chums, Jessica and Katie, and then created a track to perform on top of. I've never made a video like this, but the combination of sampling and performance is a fun concept and I really enjoyed expanding my creative repertoire a bit. Like Interstellar, time is a big theme in Inception. As time passes in this performance, I hope the sounds I create continue to build, expand and change, much like the dreams within Inception.
