Included Food Review - MSC Magnifica - Main Dining Room and Buffet 

I can't wait to go for my birthday in April!! Thanks for all your help!

I have been on over 15 MSC cruises in the past 2 years and the food overall is very good. The buffet can be hit or miss however the food in the Yacht Club is top notch. The only thing my wife has to complain about is no ice cream machine. But that's ok. Royal has one but it has become a floating daycare. Don't miss it.

Thanks for the detailed review. We typically eat only in buffet, because of the long drawn out time necessary for DR meals. Interested in the meat/cheese choices, as we don’t do a lot of pasta/pizza. Might make an exception if the Italian dishes are as good as folks have suggested.

I’m going on the magnifica this coming Sunday was there a basketball court and how was the casino?

Wow we are really opposite in our approach to the main dining room as solos lol. I always request to sit at a table with other solos and do traditional early dining and i have met some really amazing solos and have made so many friends along the way! I look forward to seeing my friends on the ship in the main dining room, and doing early dining then usually I can go to a show after. But, I completely agree that the quality of the food is just as excellent in the buffet as the MDR; really good food at both, I can also eat it every day either way. So i love eating at the buffet all the time. But i will almost always eat every meal in the main dining room so i can meet and talk to other solo cruisers and make new friends. So I’ll even do the back to back breakfasts even though I’m not a morning person lol because then i make friends for the next leg of the cruise. 🚢

Just got off the Magnifica on Friday myself. The buffet seemed 99% identical each meal period. With catching a cold, i didn't get to the main dining room at all, but likewise, I wouldn't be willing to sit there for a couple hours, especially with a start dinner time of 8:30.

Going on Seashore in March. Personally I'm not worried about the food but my wife has food sensitivity and I'm not sure msc has enough options. I guess we'll find out!

Are you only limited to one appertizer/entree/dessert in the restaurants?

I was on this ship out of Miami just last weekend as my first cruise. The food was not seasoned, i wish I knew to stick with the buffet for dinner after goving the dining option another try. The steak was paper thin, sad they call that a steak. The pizza in the buffet saved every meal!

The steak was a "little bit chewy?" You are generous. I just got off this ship and I wouldn't feed that stuff to my dog.

MSC is much faster at dinner in the main dining room. Just from my experience.

What are the buffet hours?

Magnfica pizza is not as good as the larger ships. It is super bready square shaped. Overall it’s below average

I really like MSC’s food.
