With a winter storm on the way, I had to make a DIY router sled to plane my epoxy door, and get it loaded onto the tractor before the squalls hit. I then returned a few days later, to do some maintenance work at the log cabin.

You better be careful putting clothing too close to the woodstove. My uncles hunting boots caught fire one night doing that. Thank God someone was sleeping on the couch n caught it.

Yours is a terrific channel for so many reasons. Your relationship with your dad resonates with many of us, even tho he is now gone, the cabin and all that it took the two of you to build still stands as a home full of memories. Great ones. Watching the way you plan and execute each piece of the build and now, occupy is always fun. I for one, would enjoy watching you repair the snow cat and snowmobile but I'm a little wired that way... Thanks for sharing your great adventure...always fun to look forward to and to watch. :)

Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. God bless you and your family. Snow and ice build-up are definitely major problems with solar panels in cold climates. Adding a wind turbine would be a good addition. If you get a cheap one, you could use it just to heat the solar panels to keep them clear. Just use electric heat cables that are designed to go on roofs to prevent ice dams.

Just to make a note for future reference, one project that I'm looking forward to the front deck, with as I recall, you may or may not use those curved trees on or in the construction of. Yes, the clear door with the tree in it will be neat, and for many years I had a silver birch in a corner of my lounge with all sorts of stuff from my travels hanging on it, but for some reason, it is the look of the whole cabin that appeals to me most, and I still fondly recall the videos of times when you and your father were working on bringing it to life. Best of luck, and the very best of wishes to you and your family.

Over one bench, it would be nice to be able to hang your winter gear. It is a great place to dry out stuff. An excellent heavy wood peg system would match the aesthetic of the cabin. The stone-covered bench will be a nice place to put your winter boots on. A longer-handled broom would be handy to hang on the left side outside the wall. Then any family member could rake the snow from the solar panels. A plus is if you put a sauna and shower underneath the solar panels, the heat will melt the snow.

You need some gravel on the bad spots on your driveway. Should help much. My neighbor had a too weel tractor. He used to help me a lot, but then I bought a Kubota tractor 4x4, with front loader. That was in 1995, Today I still have and smaller tractor, the BX tractor and is good enough to remove the snow and do multiple jobs thru the years. But this last winter all the snow fell on the Northeast and California, we just got very low temperatures.

Nice! That door is really unique! What plans do you have for the steps to your front door? I slipped on icy temporary steps similar to yours as I was leaving with my arms full of tools. This resulted in cracked ribs and a strained back. I kept working but it was quite painful and it really slowed me down for a couple weeks. I had been through that door and down the steps hundred's of times without a problem until this happened and would hate to see it happen to anyone else, especially someone like you that is working alone and isolated.

I THINK that I have watched every episode of you and your dad's cabin build, and as I've said B4 the PRECISION of you and your father's work is what impresses me the most! Which tells me that not only do you KNOW HOW to build structures that have the STRENGTH to withstand both the outdoor ELEMENTS, but also the test of TIME And this resin door with a tree inside is ONE MORE example of your FINISH CARPENTRY skills. THAT is REALLY gonna be AMAZING ! ! ! I for one, would like to see both WHERE and WHAT your M-F "HOME" looks like So I hope you'll show US around there as you're working on the "Tree door". .... And somewhere down the line, I hope you'll go back to that old well exploration ..! You DEFINITELY have LOTS of vlog material to share, and I certainly hope you will, cause we're eating it up ! ....and I'd like to say one last thing, because I THINK it is one more thing that makes YOUR CHANNEL something WORTH WATCHING.....and that is your obvious BELIEF IN and LOVE OF..... GOD, our FATHER in Heaven, which is the source of EVERYTHING GOOD we each experience in our individual mortal journeys. And I am grateful for your being bold enough to express that on your channel !❤️!😃!!❤️!😃!! From.... the "UTAH'N"... GOD BLESS U2 !
