Our host Nicholas Davenport who is a leader in the applied psychological field as well as a former college professor. He has earned a masters degree in Sport Psychology and his research specializes in improving performance using personality, cognitive training, stress management techniques. When my partner yells “you” it has the tendency to mess up my shot. It’s something I have struggled with. I would do your program if it was local

This looks like something that would really help many players, but the equipment and knowledge needed is not readily available. Any thoughts on how to address this?

This is a very good question. There are numerous types of equipment and software and you are right they can be expensive or hard to implement with out a practitioner. I had a match last night, and the net was distracting me because it was not on properly also, my drop shots were just a little bit short and hit the top of the net. I really, got into my own head. What remedy can I do to fix that?

Sorry that this occurred. The first thing I usually ask my clients is was the thoughts in your head of doubts in the outcome or your ability? Regardless of the reason this is extra cognitive load being taken from the skill/task at hand and more going to things that won’t directly help you in that moment. There’s something called refocus cues to try and lock in even after something doesn’t go your way and move on. I may have a video for this on the page let me check
