Tobii's Eye Tracker is, I 100% agree, an excellent addition, if (prohibitively for many) costly, to any flight simmer's 'immersion toolbox'. I had a much earlier head tracker only version and was impressed with it. Should you buy this new v5 version? I would say yes, if funds stretch - unless you are a VR-only flight simmer, of course. The biggest improvement in immersion is the head tracking function. Eye tracking? This is definitely the future though the biggest benefit, still far from being realised, is in true dynamic foveated rendering. For VR this is still very problematic since all HDM's, due to the optics, have relatively small sweet spots which means the majority of the display is blurry - that nullifies any advantage of a dynamic foveated render solution. For non-VR use i.e. on monitors (where the entire screen is at max resolution as you look over it), why do devs not test out dynamic foveated rendering here? This tobii v5 eye tracker would be the perfect test system (though the cost is a wee bit high for many folks)...please look into this Tobii, you're missing a truly massive/'Killer App' opportunity to very significantly ramp up those FPS numbers! Heck, if perfected, it can be used in ANY situation where FPS is important, even HDM's once they sort out the optics. Before then, what about using the eye tracker to select/highlight items? maybe offering blinking to confirm/interact with things? A wide enough tolerance should get you acceptably there, though maybe eye tracking accuracy is good enough with v5?

works great got "35 monitor no problems great to look round when taxing and out looking round in msfs it good.

This doesn't work in conjunction with a controller. When i plug in my dual-shock, it disables the tobii. Its one or the other. Im not too happy with it, so will be returning mine, and probably try vr.

How do you find the interaction with the movement and then trying to use the switches and buttons. I have the head tracker right now and feel it's better to toggle off while trying to manage the switches but toggle on when taxiing.

Nah man, this tech was ok 15 yrs ago, I know its improved a lot but there is zero immersion. VR all the way Fezza. 😊

Unfortunately, this is no good if you have a physical cockpit layout with hardware at it can only be mounted at the bottom of the screen.
