Weird coincidence, Mark Heap who is playing Ron Mael in this scene starred in the TV show Spaced directed by Edgar Wright, who has now made a Sparks documentary.
Kinda shows that alot of people remember seeing this on TV back in the 70's and that Sparks are still relevant today. Otherwise they wouldn't have bothered making this spoof. Sparks have wrote amazing music for more than 30 years now
I first heard of Green Wing on Hulu. I had watched all of Black Books and GW was one of those "Recommended for you" things. Now I watch an episode almost everyday even though I've seen all of them. I really wish they aired some of these contemporary UK comedies here in the USA. All we get is stuff like Last of the Summer Wine, Are You being Served, To the Manor Born, etc. I heard that GW might get an American adaptation. I really hope that isn't true. The original will do just fine.
Mark Heap (Alan) is a Comedy Genius, he should be a bigger household name with more acting parts. He totally nailed this Sparks clip and even added more!
