Hey Michael, I'm glad you found a solution for your humidity issue. You'll be surprised at what a difference it makes, especially when growing in semi-hydro. Good luck with it and happy growing ;)
Both links no longer work. I thought I’d let you know in case you wanted to update them. Thanks for all the great videos - I love in the desert and have been watching your videos all evening in preparation of moving my orchids to semi-hydroponics.
Thank you Michael. I've been looking for a solution to the dry root tips that my Phals have. I think this might be the answer for me. I love your videos
@@MichaelsOrchids I literally laughed out loud. I found it particularly amusing given the fact that almost every one of my orchid purchases has been an impulsive and financially-irresponsible decision. 😁🌸
woop woop 🎉🎁🎉 I'm so happy you found such a simple and pretty solution to your dry ambient humidity problem. I would have thought you would go for someting black and athe sleek (like the one Susan has, but yeah that's a 8 hour refill job .... ) so congratulations with your new humidifer and reader. I'm keen to see your icu patients doing well. lots of love and humid air from rainy Holland 😉🙋❤
You know me so well! I looked long and hard for a black one that had all of the same specs, but it just did not exist. White will have to do, but I don't mind it 😉
Michael's Orchids I just looked at the price it's to bad they don't ship to the Netherlands that's an amazing deal! I just got somying like your niovo 2 weeks ago but it also has an sensor that I placed outside and predicts weather so when rain is coming it's shows a cartoon frog with an umbrella. lolz. so i can see the inside and outside temp and I door and outside humidity and that's nice for my outside plants It was 12 euros and us black and silver/ grey and even my husband's likes it. it has no purpose to him he just likes electronic toys and gadgets #nerdlife thanks for showing how much effect it has. for that price I'm willing to search the internet and get one before winters is coming🙈 pun intended... I hope to habe my grow room done by then. and a humidifier would not be a bad investment. (more gadgets for husband to install )
You're already on the right track! It took me a long time to find exactly what I was looking for, because I was looking for aesthetics, price point and function. I'm sure there is something equivalent available to you, it will just take some time to find!
Thanks so much for sharing! I am new to your channel and find it extremely intuitive and full of good, solid information. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I am very interested in your growing techniques and read a lot of your links. I haven't gone through all your videos yet, so hence the question. Do you grow Vandas at all, and if so, do you use the same medium - the beads? Thanks in advance for replying...
Hi Jackie! I do have one Ascocenda (a vanda type) in SH, and its doing amazing! Check out my January orchid update to see how it’s doing, it’s #17 in my collection: January 2018 Orchid Collection Update: Semi-Hydroponicsru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r7uAVZrJZe4.html
hey dude, i forgot to ask you. for how long are you keeping the humidifier on? i started keeping mine 24/7. i started using it only in the daytime (like 9am to 6 pm), but since it's so hot in europe right now, i started using it all the time.
Michael I just purchased and received the Nuovoware and the Home humidifier but what humidity are you set at for your home during the winter?? If I have 50% in my kitchen will I get mold?? Just asking
Hi Margaret! Good question. You want to stay under 60% humidity. The US EPA says: “Sometimes, humidity or dampness (water vapor) in the air can supply enough moisture for mold growth. Indoor relative humidity (RH) should be kept below 60 percent -- ideally between 30 percent and 50 percent, if possible.”
