I’ve just found your channel and can’t wait to watch more! I can’t believe how beautiful this turned out! I was a little skeptical when you whitewashed the drawers but not the rest but boy did you show out! Way to go!
You are the queen of furniture makeovers, Cindy! I always learn something new from you and feel inspired to give it a try. The transfers are beautiful!
This is an awesome tutorial and i love the way this oak washstand turned out. It's so beautiful and happy now! Thanks for sharing! ps - I can't live without my Scrubby soap for cleaning my brushes either, hehe. ;)
What a great video, Cindy! I love the rub-on transfer that you used. Also cleaning the oak that has that orangey color and how good it looked afterwards! Your explanations of what you do at each step is so good and makes it easy for anyone to flip an antique! Thanks for sharing!❤️
Yep, you broke my heart. I thought you were going to do a white was over the whole piece but you only did the drawers, the door n the top. I’ve have to be honest here. I’m not big on putting flower transfers on furniture. If I did, for me it would be in a small area or use smaller flowers. As you know I’m a lover of antiques n especially any made with oak. I’m somewhat disappointed. This was a beautiful piece. I realize the orange like stain can turn anyone off. I also know it takes some work n time to refinish it n there’s time you just don’t want to deal with it but if you sanded most of the finish off ( the varnish or shellac the top coat) you might of been able to stain it a bit darker to get rid of that orange tint. I’ve done this a few times on some of my pit of furniture. Well Cindy, I guess it doesn’t matter now, does it ?LOL. The work is done. You did do a nice job at painting it n the handles are beautiful. Never seen anything like them before. My honest opinion. I think the flowers are too big or too much. I’m truly sorry to hurt your feelings. I don’t mean to but I’m a honest person n I’m not going to lie to make another person feel better. ♥️♥️😊👍👍 Once again I’m sorry.
Oh Shelly, please don’t be sorry!! We all like different things and that keeps it all interesting! My feelings are not hurt one little bit! I love that you feel comfortable enough here to share your honest review in a kind way!! You are right about darkening the color to get rid of the orange. That would take care of covering the tone. I also see what you are saying about the size of the flowers. Thanks again my friend for sharing your input 🥰🥰
I was really worried that I offended you that you might over look my comments from now on. But like I said, I cannot lie. Keep the washstand as is n give yourself some time n think about all the flowers on it. You might reconsider changing it up some. ♥️😊👍
Someone asked who would do this to an antique,Well,I would😘thats why im here,I wanted to see of someone else had done it first😂😂😂😂😂,Now i know im going to,its going to be my bathroom sink vanity,I found it for 50.oo but it definitely needs a pick me up n this is absolutely beautiful ❤️
So glad you find inspiration here Evelyn! We all have different tastes and styles and that's ok. Variety keeps it all interesting! I hope you have fun with your project 🥰
Hi Sheri! I’m so sorry you were disappointed! We all have different styles and tastes and that keeps this world interesting 🥰The good thing about a furniture makeover is that it can be changed. Thanks for chiming in!
Honestly,Who would do that to a so called 'antique'?its completely spoiled sadly. The 'before' looks streaks better than the stuck on floral 'embellishment',
