Good question - it depends on the amount of damage. If it's just scraped or dented body damage it can be repaired at the shop by hanging a new body. Usually, if the car needs and major body repairs, the entire car is re-wrapped. If it's just a scraped decal, they keep extra decal pieces on the truck. Boris
It does seem odd at first glance, but if you can imagine lifting several gallons of paint, compared to a roll of thin vinyl, you'd notice a huge difference. Thanks for watching! -Boris

Yes, and no. The distinct lines in the new body provide more reference points, which is helpful. At the same time, there are a lot more severe bends and warps in this body. We love them nonetheless. - Boris
Not too long ago maybe 15 years ago they would spray the base layer for the Daytona and Talladega. 20 years ago it was all paint for the most part. Wrapping now is just way faster and lighter weight.
The trick to wraps and stickers is water and small amount of dish soap. It allows the adhesive to be positioned just right. Flatten out the bubbles, let dry and you're all set.
What you've seen is the finished product. A clear protective film is applied to the printed vinyl after it comes out of the printer. We will put a clear 3M Nose wrap on the this car after the wrap process. -Boris

Woo hoo ! the 2016 paint scheme is similar to the 2013 one. One of my favorites, but I'll still miss the crispy green, because that's his championship car.
Paint = tons of time preparing in the shop, uneven weight distribution across the body, time in the shop to strip paint, and lots of money. Decal = Less time in the shop, even weight distribution, little time to strip, less money. Boris
