This is an awesome video! I love to chase through watching all of your videos and other storm chasers. I kind of miss this weather (my friends call me crazy) but I live up at 8,000 ft. In Colorado. And about a year after we moved here, we had an F1 tornado about 5 miles north of our house!

Damn, and I missed it. We were on our way home to Rule, TX from Lubbock and this happened barely 10 minutes after we got home. Just about 10 miles south of us.

Why does it look like its not attached in the middle? You can clearly see the funnel and it's obvious there's destruction on the ground but nothing in the middle.

Sometimes the condensation funnel fails to connect, but don’t be mistaken because the air is still in a tight circulation there

Even if you can’t see a condensation funnel all the way down or connected to the debris ball, it’s still capable of doing as much damage.

@@copenhagen6116 Very much so! So far this year we've had a fairly good rainfall so those fields were pretty wet. Not as much dust as normal. I live 10 miles to the north.

Is it not rare for tornadoes to be around this time of year? Seems like there has been a fair few over winter. I thought the tornado season was supposed to be like april/may onwards?

I think I've seen tornadoes every single month in Texas over the last 60 years, but definitely more during the warmer months. A few years ago there were 2 pretty destructive ones during the time between Christmas and New Year's Day
