This combination of the BOSS IR-200 and AIO S3 gives you instant plug-and-play, incredible guitar tone. A classic strat, with some key modern upgrades, and a perfect setup, combined with cutting edge amp and speaker sims gives you NO EXCUSE for still having a bad guitar tone. Best part is, you can do it without breaking the bank.

Great video and playing! Right now I'm using a Stage Right 50 watt tube amp with a Digitech RP 300 amp modeling muti effects unit with built-in wah peddle. It has almost unlimited possibilities for effects, tone and sound. It also works well with my Boss Katana 50 and my Marshall Valvestate 80.

Best clean tone I ever owned was a fender blues deluxe reissue tweed amp from 96 I believe. Best crunch was my jcm 900 dual reverb. Now I just use the jmp45 positive grid spark amp. I’m a Marshall Gibson geek. I still love anything fender.

You're absolutely right, Max. I'm still using the Mustang GTX100, because I needed a grab-and-go solution. I still haven't really explored all the models. I also recently bought a Yamaha Pacifica 612, and it's all the modern Strat I'm ever going to need. Jonesing for a Firebird, though. LOL.

My current rig is an Ibanez RG471AH fitted with Seymour Duncan pick-ups ('59 in the neck, Quarter Pound in the middle, Custom in the bridge) mini-toggle switches to coil split the humbuckers, and 7-way wiring with the push-pull on the tone control. My "amp" is an old Digitech RP-1000 that I run through a Headrush FRFR-108 that sits on a speaker stand behind me. I will probably upgrade to a Headrush Prime or Line 6 Helix Floor at some point in the future. Overall, a very lightweight, easy to transport rig that doesn't take up a lot of room if I'm performing on a small stage.

Nice video, sounding good, Max . . . OK, I'll admit to being an AIO fan; I have fourteen of their guitars and one bass in my collection--but I've never had one of their Strat-style models because I have an Ultra Luxe that was the benchmark for me. I'm not a fan of the relic trend--I guess I'm just old school--honest wear should be earned, not faked. I don't really gig much any more, but when I did I learned not to chance damage/loss to any of my high-end instruments (oh yeah, I had plenty of friends who learned this lesson the hard way). The current digital amp/sim-tech is certainly interesting these days, but I still prefer tube amps, just turned down/attenuated as circumstances dictate. Nonetheless, you know GAS never lets up; so, I've been thinking that an AIO S2 SSH might just scratch that itch . . . we'll see.

I have been playing and learning for about 9 months now and I agree, the selection of gear and the quality has never been better, there are some fantastic budget-friendly guitars that far exceed what you would expect at that price point. In 9 months I have collected 7 guitars so far and I only "need" a few more, I am a budding guitar addict and it feels like there is a buzz and excitement building. So many great players sharing what they know. I have a ton of learning to do, music theory and guitars is still a little mystical to me.

I run everything in stereo and I have a combination of vintage 30s with celestian greenbacks and some G1275s. I run my reverb delay and chorus in stereo and I run a 10 band EQ on the Peavey. On the Marshall I use a Rev G4. I also have a custom cry baby pedal and a Ibanez tube screamer and boost pedal in front of both amps with a radial ABY switch. At home I use a half stack with a Tonex pedal running in the return of the blue voodoo 120 head. For backing tracks I use my doctor rhythm or something online like elevated backing tracks. I've seen the boss IR loader and anything boss is good I've been using boss since the early '80s. I think I will stop now lol. Well I've had this pedal that's been sitting on my board for awhile but I wasn't really sure of the best way to *use it. It's a much maligned pedal but I've grown to *love it! I'm talking about the MXR Fullbore Metal! My original impression was that it was best for detuned thrash metal and I just didn't think it was very suitable for soloing, boy was I wrong! I use the lead setting taken directly from the user manual and run the pedal directly into the clean channel of my Bugera Tri-rec. That in combination with my Berhinger digital delay running through my effects loop gives me some incredible tones. Everything from Iron Maiden to Metallica tones this current setup does it all. I'm very happy with it! I have given thought to getting a good cab simulator pedal to expand my library of tones that I'm limited to by my current speaker cab setup. I think it could only improve the tone that I'm getting. I'm going to listen to some more Boss IR-200 demos. Thanks, Guitar Max!

Old MacDonald had a guitar... Max is right, there certainly is decently playing gear for such relatively affordable prices. I got a Kramer Baretta Special a year or two ago for an embarrassingly low amount - the guitar plays perfectly. In answer to the question I have a few great guitar/amp/effects combinations. Deluxe Reverb paired with my Jazzmaster, Gretsch 6119 and Tokai 335 is probably the best all-rounder for live & recording. However, and speaking of affordable gear again, I picked up a Bugera T5 head for around £100 late last year and a Hayden 1x12 for £60 used and a Tayden AlNiCo Ace 25 for around £120 - this makes a wonderful low-watt recording/practice amp. I can wind it up a little and get some of that raspy class A caving-in found without taking my head off. Nice playing too Max. Edit: gear detail

Yeah, I'm one of those guys who just doesn't get the whole relic'd thing. I know that some say blemishes give a guitar character, but I think there's already plenty of character with the shape, carve, finish, grain pattern etc. A relic'd guitar goes well beyond the boundaries of blemishes in my eyes anyway, massive areas on the body having the finish entirely "worn" away is far more extreme than a couple of dents and scratches. It's not even realistic, what type of conditions would your guitar have to be subjected to for it to ever " age " like that? Lol... You'd literally have to be dragging it behind you across concrete to have such drastic wear. It's completely counterintuitive to me, it just doesn't make sense. No one would who ordered a new guitar under any other circumstances would ever open the box, see the guitar in such an extreme condition and be satisfied with their purchase. Guitars have the potential to be breathtaking works of art, it's sheer insanity to just obliterate that potential right off the bat. Madness, I tell you! MADNESS!!!🤯😆 Congrats on the 12 string, btw.
