Jenny is actually a completely separate thing, JENNY is the one that used to be Barbie. I think they're both made by Takara but totally different lines, it's confusing. I prefer Jenny just personally because I was gifted one growing up and and loved her so much lol But she's less popular than Licca by a lot.

The dolls are super cute!!! I like Licca concept and I really like this dolls. I live in Spain, and although Licca is not popular in here, her "sister" is an icon🤭 In the 70', the Spanish company Feber got the rights of Licca Chan and made the Spanish version called Chabel. She has a really similar screening and proportions. The collections were amazing: cinderella, hospital, rainy days... Sadly, she was discontinued in 1992, but she is really loved here in Spain. The company that makes licca-chan used to work in collabiration with mattel to produce barbie dolls for japan. Barbie isn't as popular in japan as she is in the us because licca existed long before barbie started selling their dolls in japan to by the time she made her way to japan she struggled to complete with licca-chan which is why mattel partner up with tomy. Tomy help barbie gain more popularity in japan because tomy being a japanese based company knew what appeals to japanese consumers. I hope that help.s
I know Licca has been around for a very long time because I can remember wanting one when was younger and I’m OLD. The legs and lack of articulation are a drawback but I have always loved their face and clothes.
Licca was destroying Barbie sales in Japan so Mattel partnered with Takara to create Jenny and she was popular for a short period of time but people really wanted more of Licca. This line uses an updated Jenny body but without the poseable legs. The stands work "better" if you attach it on the side of the leg instead of behind it. I cant wait for the other two dolls and the fashion packs to come out.
They're really adorable! I think those bodies are from the old playline Jennys. Jenny has a few type of bodies and normally they're the solid plastic and they're also a photogenic body which is really rubbery. The normal licca body is smaller and solid and I actually love them coz they're simple and cute! I also love the Licca Castle line which is exclusively made at the Licca Castle place/factory in Japan.
Ahh they're so cute, I wish I could get my hands on one, but no one sells them in my country 😭. Hopefully one day I'll be able to afford getting one from abroad. Nice review! And I'm very disappointed with the leg thing- still cute, tho

These look so fun! I have a few Licca-chan dolls from a few years ago, a Bijou Series doll and a couple of regular playline ones, but I did not know about these releases. Wow, they're taller. That sucks about the hollow legs. I rebodied my Licca dolls anyway with obitsu and pure neemo bodies, so I'd do the same with these. I like some of their fashions, and their hair is really unique.
I love that they’re taller!! I wouldn’t mind getting a few regular Liccas to go with them now :) I might go with Obitsu as I love the variety they have. I have a few for my Pullips and higher end dolls! I’m looking at buying old, messed up Jenny dolls since they’re reasonably cheap and similarly proportioned
The Licca-Chan dolls are so cute. The gold trim on the doll with the green top is meant to look like a chain. I like the shoes and I love the butterfly jacket. If you glue the caps on the dolly makeup you probably should use washable Elmer's glue. It would hold but not be permanent. The makeup is cool.
I always wanted to try these doll especially the kimono one. We never get Asian clothing in America and I wanted a kimono so bad. Sadly, it is too expensive for me to buy them and I really can’t add another brand to my doll collection. I recently cut off Barbie cuz there was no space.
You could put a tiny bit of hot glue on the tips of containers to make them just the slightest bit tighter. Use a toothpick to put it on and then once it’s dry try it and see if it works. If it doesn’t work you can always just peel it off.
Latte Retro is heavy on the 80s influence, with the oversized jacket, the neon, and the squiggle pattern. Same with the baggy shorts. Her shopping bag looks a bit like a cassette tape! They're all so cute, but I love her.
I want cosme lover an ungodly amount she’s so beautiful omg her and latte retro are my faves, would have liked to see emo cat actually be emo tho and not just a soft girl, anyways I’m obsessed with the studio ghibli licca dolls they’re some of my grail dolls and I really hope to get them some day
I love the licca chan dolls they are so adorable also have you seen the mermaid high dolls yet I found some online and they kind of reminded me of the Winx club dolls you should check them out
I have a Ken doll that looks like Jenny, I have had him a while. He has the Barbie logo on his box and he has Fantasy friend on it as well. I so wish I could show a pic on here, he is dressed in a white tux. I bought a lot of Barbies years ago now and I got 3 Jennys and similar dolls that look like Jenny but they have Sega, like the game system logo on their box

I love Latte ( pink and green hair girl) I have awesome news that happened, I went to Best Buy today, cause they had the new Rainbow High Deluxe Fashion Closet 2.0 for $34.99, but when I went they were sold out. So I went to Target, they had one, but for the $60 price point, so I decided to ask the cashier if they could price match, and he did!!!!!! I am so happy! Cause I was not gonna get it if it was still $60 I also got Jett Dawson, so I paid full price for her, but not half for the closet. 😁

If you want to rebody your Licca's you might want to look for older Jenny dolls. I don't know if they make Jenny dolls anymore but you can find them on eBay I'm sure. The Jenny dolls have the bendy arms and legs and will have the same proportions as your Licca dolls. Regular Licca dolls have smaller bodies I believe. I think your LIcca dolls have the more adult bodies that the Jennys have.
Do you buy second hand dolls? Do you like the Bratz dolls? I have some of the original Bratz dolls, I am not really into Bratz. I am thinking about selling my Bratz dolls.
