What an incredible comeback by Hempel. Barely made it to this year’s championship by the tour card holder qualifier and then was a leg away from getting knocked out in R2, only to take 3 sets in a row to keep his tour card. What a stud. Hopefully he has a long, successful career in darts.
@@GregHelms420dont think so. Stakes were so much higher for hempel and hempel hit 2 10 darters in a row, which is just a ridiculous level! Only 1 10 darter before was thrown
Is that sportsmanship or is it being ok with losing? I feel like Dimitri is lacking that willpower to win and always looks down even before the game is over
Im a belgian. And i cant stand dimitri he has no self confidence and stop dancing ffs. That sportmanship is bullocks he should be upset he lost this one but still he smiles and shows to much respect hes such a douch
I have so much respect for Dimitri. Losing a match like that would have been devastating, but he was gracious in defeat. And Dobey vs Willy was just outrageous!!!
I love Van Den Bergh, you can tell he's expects so much of himself but he's always the first to congratulate his opponents, a massive show of good character especially after that.
Definitely the best overall session so far, every single match was good. Amazing comeback by Hempel. Great showing by Schindler Super strong match by Van Barneveld And the Dobey - O'Connor match was just straight up the best match we had the entire World Championship so far.
van den bergh vs hempel was insane one of the most unlikely turnarounds i´ve ever wittnessed. This and the dobey vs o connor match were some of the best ones of the tournament so far.
Once again… we have just witnessed another remarkable comeback win from 2-0 down at the World Championship, and this time it’s Florian Hempel who produces the comeback!!! He honestly looked like a beaten man at 2-0 down against van den Berg, but then he started hitting back 2 back 10 darters and an amazing 151 checkout to win 3-2!!!
Best known german for returns in the UK is not any longer Boris Becker. 😜 What a comeback fight Flo brought us on the screens?! Massive thanks and congratulations to Florian Hempel. This was epic! 👏👏👏 Thanks as well to Schindey, Barney and Dobey for a great evening in front of the TV. 👍
Some truly brilliant stuff in here, not least 1002 points in 20 darts from Hempel. But Van den Burgh shows once again what a class act he is. An utter gentleman in defeat. Bravo sir.
Barney impressed tonight. His doubling was so clinical. If he can up his scoring power a bit he will be hard to beat. U can never rule out Barney when he starts the tournament like this. This game will give him plenty of convidence and I wouldn't mind if he wins the whole thing 1 more time.
Ahh I didn't get to watch the match between van den Bergh and Hempel, but what an incredible comeback that was. Probably the best one yet, aside from Jame Wade vs Mervyn King in the 2014 Masters final. What makes this even sweeter is that I am German and this was something that no scriptwriter could ever produce. This is why we love the darts, because ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. AUSGEZEICHNET!!!!
This was a Houdini act from Hempel. 2-0 down in the 4th set and then that astonishing crazy 151 followed by the 84 with last dart in hand after Dimi missed a couple of darts for the match and then back to back 10 dart finishes on D18 to steal the 4th set and then get ahead in the decider. That was just unreal darts under the utmost pressure and to witness that was literally darts at its best.
Between van Barneveld rolling back the years and Florian Hempel pulling of the Houdini act of the year, this has been the best night of the championship so far.
Pdc highlights are very good normally, but how could you miss out dimis 2 clear match darts and hempels 180 and 84 checkout to save it. That was the moment were dimi was closest to victory. In a video called "highlights" this should be in.
I know ow we have a while year to forget the previous Championship but the standard and drama this year is stunning. The hour plus of highlights a day is golden. Defo getting the week pass for the last 7 days.
Dobey and O'connor what a tremendous game. The commentators need to remember a Newcastle football fan is known as a Magpie, this gets confusing when they call O'connor the magpie. Or perhaps it's just with me being from the North East (Sunderland lad) but love watching Dobey. Fingers crossed for him.
I've tried to find out how the PDC determines the "new" statistic called a "Trebleless Visit." I can't find answers to my questions anywhere online. 1. What trebles are considered OK to hit to avoid a trebleless visit? 2. Are visits to the oche to hit the winning double that don't require a treble considered a trebleless visit? Example: I've got 100 left, miss the treble 20 with the first dart, scoring only 20. I hit the double 20 and then another double 20 to win the leg. Is my winning visit considered a trebleless visit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
@@thecarpetman7687I think it's fair to say darts has its share of bad commentators. Mardle and Nicholson just talk way too much (especially about themselves), Laura Turner offers nothing, and Dan Dawson... My God...
@@thecarpetman7687 don't get me wrong Mardle and Nicholson have their moments and can offer some insight into the game but it's mostly just loud gibberish
The entire session was crazy standard. Hempel vs vd Bergh wasn't the highest of standards overall, but great drama. Schindler vs Wattimena was more then solid darts. van Barneveld vs Szaganski overdelivered big time. Both players playing well over their respective yearly averages. And Willie O'Connor was unlucky playing his very best of darts to run into Dobey playing his A++ - game.
Lol I saw an interview where they asked Barney why he retired and then came back. Not once did he tell the truth and say he needs the money for his new mrs lol 😆 #bantz
