Little note from Yamaha fan. Japanese bikes doesn’t have philips screws. Those are JIS (Japanese Industry Standard). It’s little bit different from regular philips bolts. That’s why there always busted 🤣 Good job man, can’t wait to see end result!

The reason most people strip those Philips heads is that they arent Philips heads. They are JIS screws and you need a special screwdriver. The JIS screwdriver fits much better then a Philips screwdriver. You can identify a JIS screw by a little dot on the screwhead. Amazing video. I just build a yz250 myself.

Hey matt i got a 2002 yz125 just redid everything to make it a 2019. After putting a new top end in it it now makes a ticking noise like its hitting the spark plug we pulled it all down and the piston is a scratched up??? If you know anything that could be an issue that would be muck appreciated!!!!!

Squish!!! Google it. Huge thing on the yz125s that gets overlooked a lot. You need to have a specific height of base gaskets to get the correct height so the spark plug doesn't hit the piston. Good luck!
