Incredible video shows humpback whale breaching near kayakers 

Many people don't realize how strong and powerful these animals are. It takes a LOT of power to make a 10 ton animal jump over twenty feet out of the water!

for something that weighs that much to lift itself out of the water, it's a shame most of us find it hard to drag ourselves out of bed in the morning.

Then is when you realize we are all just sharing this planet.

Nature truly is amazing.

I was fortunate to have two bottle nosed northern whales swim around and under my kayak on Loch Goil (Scotland). They are about three times the size of a dolphin. Sadly they strayed into the fjord and no matter how hard, Greenpeace and the Royal Navy tried, both whales died of starvation. The deepest point in the fjord is 115m....therefore no squid but unusually an abundance of sea bass, Pollack, mackerel, trout and salmon. A bit like humans dying of malnutrition eating rabbits!

For these people it’s common sense to bring a flimsy kayak to open sea where the BIGGEST CREATURE ON EARTH breaches quickly and unexpectedly out of curiosity and/or because it feels threatened.
