In this rail transport modeling video by Pilentum Television, we discover an incredibly detailed model train diorama in Z scale depicting not only a chemical plant, but also the related infrastructure. On a size of 1.6 meter in width and 0.6 meter in depth (63" x 24"), there is a double-track passenger station in the foreground, a marshalling yard for containers behind it and industrial plants in the far background, with numerous miniature trucks driving around.
This unbelievably detailed model railway diorama was built by Claudius Veit, a German model maker. Construction has so far taken three years, although not all the buildings have been fully weathered. A special feature of this ingenious miniature railroad are the many small vehicles and large trucks, which are moved by a magnetic drive system (“Magnorail Car System”). There are literally hundreds of details to discover on every square centimeter.
Another special feature is the digitally controlled day and night lighting: The model train diorama uses various LED lighting units to display day, dusk, night and dawn alternately for around 15 minutes. The miniature world automatically takes on a completely different appearance due to the light effects.
