"Play what you actually want to play..." Amen to this line. I spent a few years looking at guardsmen and wanting to collect them. However, I didn't like any guard army enough to collect. That's when I got the idea of an Japanese Edo period army. Though it's barely anything yet, it's a blast to find bits and build my own unique army of guardsmen
Awesome, I can actually get behind terminator armor for sisters of battle. Did you give them different looking Terminator armor or basic? I've been kit bashing ashigarus (I suck at spelling) with imperial guardsmen bits. They look actually decent.
@날파리우스의 워해머 체널 with my limited knowledge lol it's the straw hat style, but I don't think they are actually straw. I got the models from "Pike and Shotte". The only complaint I have is that I have to use the basic guardsmen arms.
@날파리우스의 워해머 체널 i actually plan on letting the samurai be more cavalry based with a few in foot. However they will be a fraction to the army, where the ashigarus will be the main bulk. As for yari, I would give them to the cavalry, I see no better weapon for them lol. Hard part when I collect enough infantry will be vehicles. I don't want traditional 40k vehicles, more WW2 Japanese. But finding those in the correct size been tricky the few times I've searched.
@@markbauby7442 thank you and right now I only of six built. However not sure if I like the kit bash of the Ashigarus. Debating if the arms are too big, since they are Cadian Imperium Guard arms. Otherwise the unit flags on they backs or the traditional packs and traditional armer looks amazing.
Now this is what the hobby is about, building a collection over years and making something proud to play on the table. Fuck the meta. Play glorious things, and can always come back to it and have something prideful on the shelf.
I had the good fortune to have Findlay live with me for a bit - and I got to see this army everyday, and played against it - and to live with a true big hearted, generous, and kind man who puts everyone before him - he's a true gem
The stories behind this really showcase there's so much more depth to just painting and battling - tons of friendships and you can tell the community near you guys is so close!
Troops wearing kilts had the apron in all theatres to protect the tartan this was very common ww1 trenches in the mud. I love the Scottish theme to this hats off to you !!!!
Aight! That's it! Patreon, here I come. In terms of battle reports, you guys are the absolute best 40K channel out there. I hope for more content for years to come! P.S. Will we ever see Blood Ravens represented on the channel?
SOO, Fantastic! Great timing as I was stalled on my own guard collection. Just an awesome army to gaze throughout your ranks. Just a inspirational force!
wow! that army is just amazing! I personally love the Armour-cast Warhound titan, those 2nd ED ogrins and those burning pipes! those are just awesome. (or was it epicast? anyway, those guys look super cool. but are near impossible to get) really hope to see your army show up once more for a fight!
The knight just got me on the first sight. I just researched where to get on and i'm now heading to get one myself. Thanks for the great content and for your Love for the Hoby!
I see Victoria Lamb miniatures as your troops. I also use her Scott parts for my guard. Awesome parts! Love your army! Very cool thought involved in your guard. Thanks for sharing.
that guy was me1 I sold him the tank for dirt cheap as I knew it would go to a good home, and that he'd have the skills to bring that bad boy to it's full glory!!!
I fucking love the creativity with Guard forces. I've been threatening my own bank account that I should make custom female Catachan or Krieg army using House Escher models from Necromunda. If this ever happens I would use Ash Wastes Striders as Rough Riders as well.
What he said about it going on as you find new stuff, I went onto wahapedia and just saw all these cool tanks and I wanted to make all of them, still working on that but like guard have an all volkite tank, just so much yes
Thanks you very much for all the glorious battle reports! And the line "What you enjoy painting, you gonna enjoy playing with" applies to every army I think. I needed that. PS: Your one and only game of AOS was in July, isn't the next one overdue? xP I would really love to see some Age of Sigmar between all the 40K. ("40K in 40min" and "Age of Sigmar, finally after ages")
these are the only videos i watch on this site, love the army showcases. it would be better if they were less wide shots and more closeups of the army itself. It's an army showcase not talking heads showcase.
Part of the army showcase in our minds is the person behind it as well. Who they are and why. So we’re looking to show that as well. That said. We will take that suggestion on board and try to do that more for future ones!
This is an awesome looking army, but I'd love to know who makes/where to get that converted knight he's got there, that's just a slick model and I want several of them...for reasons...maybe to go along with an idea for a Guard army that I've had for a bit.
That army is innnncredible. Is Findlay Craig one of us Scots? I could be wrong but hes got a bit of an accent. And you know the army. EDIT. Literally just confirmed it in the video.
@@jmaccsarmiesofArda Bowling, a wee village detween Clydebank and Dumbarton. Quiet, lots of cycle track and woods to explore witht he dog and have fires!
@@jmaccsarmiesofArda Have you walked out along the harbour wall yet? If you cross the bridge in the train station there's a gate on the other side and you can walk out. There's also a few bent bars in the fence just ahead of that point you can slip thrugh if you want to explore the old shipyard
