Arguably the most family-friendly roller coaster on the list of the ten longest roller coasters in the world is the Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure Park. When the attraction first opened in 2001, it was called California Screamin', and had a more generic seaside theme. In 2018, however, Disney reimagined the attraction as the Incredicoaster, in honor of the release of Incredibles 2. The coaster was given a complete makeover, with new theming, special effects, and an updated storyline, inspired by the beloved Pixar films, The Incredibles 1 & 2.
The attraction tells the story of the Parr family, who are also known as the superhero family, The Incredibles. The loading area of the coaster is designed to look like a futuristic train station, with posters advertising the different stops along the ride. As riders board the coaster, they are greeted by the voice of Edna Mode, the fashion designer for the Parr family, who informs them that they are needed to help the Incredibles save the day.
As for the coaster itself, it features a Linear Induction Motor (LIM) magnetic launch system that propels riders to speeds of up to 55 miles per hour in just a few seconds. There are a number of high-speed turns, bunny hops, and a single vertical loop inversion along the 6,072 feet of track - enough to make it the eighth longest coaster in the world.
The Incredicoaster is a testament to the creativity and innovation of the Walt Disney Imagineering team. It features a unique storyline that immerses riders in the world of The Incredibles, while also providing a thrilling roller coaster experience.
