Hello everyone!
Today, we're finding a solution for an automatic setup to actively incubate eggs or put them into a process chamber. Hope you enjoy!:)
Oxygen Not Included is a space-colony simulation game. Deep inside an alien space rock your industrious crew will need to master science, overcome strange new lifeforms, and harness incredible space tech to survive, and possibly, thrive.

In Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It’s Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real-time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air, or harness the natural bodily processes of wild creatures for food. If you’re clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate to death in them!

New Multi-World Gameplay
Put your colony management skills to the test by juggling the needs of Duplicants in multiple colonies simultaneously. Switch between planets in real-time and secure rare resources on other worlds to supply your home base.
Expanded Rocketry
Customize new modular rockets to your liking, then explore the expanse of space with the newly overhauled Starmap. Huge expansions to the Research Tree provide new mid-game Rocketry options, giving your Duplicants an edge in the asteroid space-race.
New Critters
Get acquainted with some new fuzzy friends - if you're nice, they might help you out around the colony!

I discovered quite by accident that if you have even just a single ladder in with the hatches, it gives the dupes something to stand on that's higher than the hatches while they attack and then the hatches can't fight back and harm the dupes

Originally wasn’t planning on doing any ranches as you suggested at the beginning. But we adapt, survive, prevail! Ranching here I come (and goodbye framerates!)

ranching don´t hit too hard on the framerate,it´s debris wich exchange temperature with suroundings permanently. make 2-3 dropoff points and clear the map off of debris

A lot of critters means a lot of patching calculations, my worlds free of critters often lag less. But yeah, debris is very important to take care of.

@@Nathans-Sandbox you mean pathing i guess? i give them crtitters very little pathing,i never felt any impact on the framerate because of them,in my experience it´s always the tamperature-calculations (debris,too much areas with massive heat exchange etc.)

Tip: you can avoid needing to form a vacuum for steam rooms by filling the room with liquid instead. Put a layer of ~400kg/tile of water on the bottom layer, and put a tiny amount of some other liquid on top. I prefer brine or salt water to avoid any potential off gassing of polluted oxygen. It leaves some debris in the room though.

Nathan wenn du bei deinen Eierbrütern die and Bausteine auf die Höhe der Brüter setzt sieht die Automatisierung wesentlich übersichtlicher aus :D gerade Linien halt

Nathan, you need a critter dropoff point in the evolution chamber to make sure the dupes wrangle the criiters to the ranch.

Your evolution chamber where you drown the hatches *will work*, but this is supposed to be the ultimate base and you have a volcano right there..... Why don't you make a door dropper that hits the hatch in the head and opens a door below them and then drops them into lava? I mean, it's the least you can do to give the hatches the ultimate send-off.

12:47 i might be wrong here...but the eggs will still go in to the incubator no matter what right?...they just will not turn on and be hugged when the ranch is full....right?

Yes, incubators will still accept the eggs as far as I understood, but we have verify that.

The duplicant won't go to a diabled incubator, you't still have to enable to it make the dupe go there.

Nathan, I've been trying to do my own version of this but I have a problem with the kill chamber. My eggs are losing viability before they hatch, so I'm only getting raw eggs. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for your advice.

wish the wallpaper mod used the materials to craft as a new buildings instead of just transferring the resources current attributes into a tile. have to be careful with the materials used as things like abyssalite can leave you with some super hot tiles and some super cold tiles since they retain their original heat from mining 😫 pretty unfortunate considering it's major use is aesthetics, not function. but hey, whatcha gonna do? 😜 also would be nice if it had Optional utility line covering. what if you have a super monster of a plumbing or ventilation system setup and want to show it off, But not have the background be the default biome color? 😀 (enhanced even further if using the `Material Colored Tiles and More` mod by shelena_malk to color pipes and ducts)

(was a little late yesterday :) as far as i see,you need lots of luck for the right egg pass at the right time at the upper incubators,if not,a rancher-dupe will be on its way to grab the needed egg out of the evolution chamber (wich makes the automation pointless imo) if your plan is to run the incubators non-stop,this problem will not occure but than you´ll have an "overflow of hatchlings" wich will take manual labour again. according to your logic setup,it seems this is a on demand setup!?

Ah yes, every now and then some hatchlings roam around the incubators, I usually just let them roam until they die. It would be more optimal to also have a killing solution for the overflow critters out of the chambers.

@@Nathans-Sandbox i recommend direct providing eggs from evolution-chamber to incubator and a logic buffer (lifespan of desired critter -4 cycles) some logic solutions are getting unprecise on high cycle-count,wich can be fixed by using more buffers/filters)

I play the game and explain what I'm doing and thinking about. You can view it as you will, for me it's an LP. I think it's most obviois because in a tutorial I don't try stuff out, I already know what I'm doing;)
