The progression of this band is truly amazing. From the hard hitting funk-metal approach to SCIENCE, the hard hitting MAKE YOURSELF, the ever-so calming MORNING VIEW, the textured A CROW LEFT OF A MURDER, the almost experimental LIGHT GRENADES, to this amazing resonating laid back and emotional album IF NOT NOW WHEN. Incubus has truly made its place in the history of music.
Highly agree. I'm an fan. I've loved incubus since make yourself. I have seen them 4 times live and I honk this album is underrated because they changed there styles for 2 albums and it split fans between older styled incubus and newer edger. My favorite was morning view and this is this album is like an evolution of Morning view. That's why I like it.
When you get chance see them live. I have watched Them live 4 times. They have amazing concerts. Best Shows Ever were..... 1. ColdPlay- Mylo Xyloto Tour 2. Broken Social Scene- They came down to Ft. Laud for the Fans after finishing their Tour. 3. Incubus- 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011
I will never understand what magic this band has brought to the music industry. It has been a part of me and how I evolved through the years with my appreciation of music and as a person. The great thing is that, with their music, I can always hit the play button and go back in time and be where I want to be in the moment. Thank you Incubus. Come back to the Philippines again for the 4th time.
If Not...Now When? Is prime example of a poetic masterpiece! Shit...just listen to the lyrics. Sad for supposedly "true" Incubus fans dis-like If Not & 8, critics actually ranked If Not last. Well FUCK THAT.l I am here to tell you, us die-hard fans since the early stages of Closet Cultivation & Fungus back in 94'-95' have yet to hear an Incubus song on ANY album that we don't love.
I used to always hate my other boyfriends taste in music, but my current man brought me to love this album in particular, and that's when I realized there was more depth and emotional intelligence to him than other males I had met previously. Still together, having our first baby three years later. What an inspiring, adaptable band Incubus is.
Incubus!!! Love you guys! Been with my husband 20 years ...I remember listening to S.c.i.e.,n.c.e. early on . Make Yourself was our anthem. LoVe LOVE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Morning view, Dig ...Love everything . Went to Make Yourself revival tour in San Francisco 2 years ago. Everyone
That would be great if the lyrics were correct! She has them backwards... How could you not notice that if they truly are one of your all time favorite lyrics? They actually have true meaning to me, so as soon as I read her comment, I knew they were wrong.
Giovanni Adrian so basically you have a straight and narrow thought process here let me explain to you young grasshopper she’s saying it from the girls side of view so it makes sense. So your comment ends up being the foolish one.
I’ve never heard this song before but I swear on my life, my eyes are tearing up and I have a knot in my throat. Jesus, Brandon. You’ve broken my cold, dead heart. What do I do now? I liked Incubus when they came on the scene on through early oughts but I didn’t stick with them other than their hits. What a bad move on my part. For the last 2 months, I’ve listened to nothing but these guys. I’ve fallen in love with the entire band. I had a kidney transplant less than a month ago and while they were prepping me for surgery, I asked to play Incubus in case that was the last music I heard. There has not been a day that I haven’t listened to this insane band. I really wish I could see them in July, but again, shiny new kidney. Oh well. Another time.
This is one of those songs that let's you know "it's going to be ok, y'all can get through this." I'm very grateful for the music Incubus is putting out into the universe (or at least MY universe). The will forever be entwined with my soul. 💜
I'm a ne'er do well Runnin' off black and gold It's high time I pulled over And walked around a while I've seen that porcelain shell Erect some skeleton And I feel like we'd walk well together Because in the end, we are friends and lovers If asked of me I would Gobble them to bits The things that wall us off from Where we belong What's wrong with you is good For what's wrong with me And I think maybe we should stick together Because in the end, we are friends and lovers We are friends and lovers Abandon all the bold We've got to pick They only weigh us down and We're better than that If they all throw stones Start a collection Of everything we're not And what's because You should never have to defend Being friends and lovers Being friends and lovers Oh oh oh oh oh Being friends and lovers
Anyone who considers themselves "die-hard" fans but dont like new music from Incubus when it comes out really isn't that diehard, are they? Bands change over time just like everyone else in their lives. Their music reflects those changes. I have given this album a few listens through and I think this music is just as inspiring as all of the others. Its mellow and it has that emotional undertone to each and every song. Why would anyone NOT want the variety of style Incubus provides?
The song and album has grown on me these past 5 years since its release. Used to be very disappointed and indifferent towards it when it came out. Funny, a lot of diehard fans who were willing to give it a chance said at the time that it may grow on us. Surely enough, at least for me, it did.
I post my comment too late but i do want to respond to reviews about this album. When Danimator's Channel said it was underrated, (i agree with) i think it is strange the fans who follows Incubus for many years, cannot understand all the band evolve anyway. It's a process of change in the life of artists and as being human. If they change, they are critized and if they stay the same, they are critized too. It's complicated! The people in general say; Don't stay in past. But when the music takes on a different tone, they like less. Like many in the life, the people change on the inside as well as the mind. And depending on what you experienced, the music is automatically different. To express through music is a personal part of oneself. I think that the creativity of Incubus is still exceptional like them. The tracks of this album are fabulous and some very sensitive. This song is the proof!
Couldn't come at a better time!!! I'm amazed a this band's progression over the years and to be honest with i was desperately waiting for a smoother come-back... The days of "Make Yourself" are over and as much as that album changed my life i wouldn't expect them to sound like they did a decade ago... right??? Their music is pure and heart-lifting... This album is so melodic and musical!!! Cheers up for Incubus and i hope to se them soon again in Colombia...
The new album is incredible! I can't get enough of it. Haha. This is an amazing performance, and one of my favorite tracks. Incubus never ceases to amaze me! So much creativity, so much talent, and so much passion.
This just further deepens my love for Incubus ive had over the YEARS... Magnificant! they've always just been true to themselves and it makes me feel sane and peacefulll.... I LOVE INCUBUS
Last night I took a cruise by myself thinking of everything while listening to this song... not so much to the lyrics but to the music... it honestly helped me just relax and forget all the stress around me... just wanted to let you know
If they all throw stones, start a collection of everything we're not and won't be-cause, you should never have to defend, being friends and lovers - amazing, I luvvv this song so much !
realmente no paso Ni UN Día ... sin escuchar o cantar, o tararear Incubus... soy una de las personas a quienes le ha cambiado la vida._. & va con cada uno de mis estados de ánimo ... ♥
this video shows how far incubus has come...they have never let me down...with every album an video they are AMAZING...keep it up incubus!!! love you guys
Quit saying "He doesnt have it anymore" like he's supposed to. He made great music and age shouldnt take away any of his glory. I loved the old Incubus and I accept the new one as well, if I didnt I would move on. I strongly believe there's much more to him and the band that a couple old songs that he cant perform as well anymore. And if you know anything about the band you would know that aswell, if you dont then you shouldnt be commenting about something you dont know about.
I agree, the fact that they have gone from Fungus Amongus to this just shows how much they have changed and grown as a band. I love that fact that they didn't stick to the original sound because of the pressure to do so. Because they stood up for what they wanted to express they have created music for nearly any mood you could be in. They have been my favorite band for years because of how sure they are of themselves and their music. Many could learn from them.
