So Incubus just released this new song earlier today! I think it's a cool jam, very different! I filmed this a bit differently from how I usually do it. What are your thoughts!?
I like it.. raw! Unless there's double kick, I dont see the need for multiple angles. I guess if you need to patch in a part that was messed up is another reason for multiple cameras.. In a way, I think we are used for lessons. I've done it.. watching someone else's take on things to help me comprehend a part or get an idea of how to execute it myself.
Flawless cover Max!! Love me some Incubus and you definitely did their new single some real justice with this video. Sharp drumming and groove! Love it 😎🤘
Oh man so cool you covered the one that just came out! As long as I’ve followed your channel, I know you are a huge Incubus fan! I’ve got tickets for their show in Seattle next month. Great drumming and high quality production Max!
I watched the Nirvana cover and then this one and drums sound way better on this one. Snare almost sounds like a sample. Looking to get the Slate VRS8 interface as well. Your amazon link for the VRS8 is down by the way.
@@maxadrums Yes I am all allright! Covid sucks, rehearsels are not allowed in my region. I'm in 4 Bands at the Moment and I want do make Music again. Hopefully this pandamic ends soon with a vaccine. I hope you are well, too. All the best for you :-)
Hey max, I love your videos and I play the drums myself, and I wanted to know how you avoid cracking and breaking your cymbals. It happens to me with annoying frequency. Any thoughts?
Hey, Ethan! Thank you very much. Cracking cymbals is a combination between the metal the cymbals are made of, their density, thickness, how they're attached on the stand, how they're angled, how much force you're hitting them with and what angle. If you break them a lot, there's probably some adjusting that should be done, unless they're just very cheap cymbals! Generally, cymbals sound better when they're not pushed to their very limit, and if they're breaking frequently, you're probably pushing them very hard! So one way to go about it to both make them last longer, make them sound better, but be able to play with the same emotion and power would be to start crashing "through" them at an angle so that less force is going straight into the cymbal. But yeah - so many things could be affecting this!
