I was 17 in 2001 and now I'm nearly 40. Most of the audience are probably well in to their 40s now. Time flies. I saw Incubus for the first time this year and they were every bit as good as I hoped.
Every single performance I have ever seen of them is like this. You wouldn’t know it was even live if you couldn’t hear the crowd. Some bands have a clean live show, they seem to have it down to a science!
I genuinely think it's pre-recorded lol, though I am no expert at deducing these things. If it really is live it's an impressive imitation of the studio version.

@@edu235edu I wouldn't say that I'm that into music theory but the songs guitar chords mostly revolve around D, E, A, B, and F# and almost any song with those notes always sounds like freedom song or music meant for an entrance. Ive also noticed a lot of American bands use these notes in popular songs. For example the main riff of bulls on parade by RATM is F# and E or Megadeths A Tout le monde is in F# , E and B and both of these songs are based upon freedom and breaking free of something. Most American 80s metal songs and ballads use these notes a lot of the time and most of those song were love songs or freedom songs. So what I'm trying to say is if you're writing a song about freedom, love or a song that grabs people's attention in the first couple seconds of the song then use these notes because a lot of songs that use these notes are usually pretty big hits and usually have the same theme.
This album was my motocross tunes on my way to the track…epic. Awesome times, but melancholy now looking back and realizing just how much time has passed. Life goes so fast…be grateful each day!
This is some of the best live music I've ever heard. His voice is amazing. They sound better live than in the studio. That's when you know a band is incredible
Is it just me or does the guitar riff in the verse transcend greatness and touch into the realm of heaven? It is one of the most epic sounds I've ever heard! Those echoed notes and the seaside portrayed perfectly in that riff...

Luke Randall I share your thoughts about Mike's guitar playing 1000%. This song, and the guitar lick/tone, exemplify the essence of capturing a feeling and point in time through music. If I could only listen to 5 songs again before the end of my life, this is one of them.

I love all kinds of music. There is some transcendent about this song. The bassline, the melody, harmonies, the groove, the chords and verse lead line. How they all work together seamlessly. No one instrument takes precedence over another. One of the most perfect songs, ever.

Really love the descriptive imagery in all Incubus music. A lot of their songs you get this feeling of living in the moment and appreciating the beauty around you.
First….i am an idiot because I never looked into Incubus ever. I only knew their song drive. I was reluctant to see them perform live But I am completely blown away by them. It’s time to take a deep dive. These guys are excellent. Great songwriting as well.
this guy never misses a note, and I love his confidence. I saw them live and he maybe said 2 words the whole set. He was just like "hey everyone :)" and that was it. love that guy

this song touched my 14 year old heart....and to this day i got goosebumps when i hear it. also it rushes my mind INSTANTLY to the days when a summer felt a thousand years when you were with your best friends and you needed nothing but your bike, a couple of friends, a lil bit of weed and some beers and you dind't have a care in the world...thanks incubus for those moments
What stopping you from doing that at 16? Get into trouble while you're still young man. Break into public pools. Light fireworks on a river bed for your friends to enjoy a show. Most people miss out on these opportunities when they young.

Always been amazed by the bands ability to stay perfectly in sync and their timing is always on point live. Gotta give it to the drummer always keeping everyone in perfect tempo each live set.
The absolutely beautiful strict nature of how tight this is, is absolutely fucking mindblowing. Im not sure people really UNDERSTAND how insanely talented these guys are. Once in a lifetime kinda band. Fucking marvelous.

The emotions i get from this band are too much, the memories from this song just brings me to tears, i remember singing this who i thought really loved me and i remember my dad singing this to the top of his lungs, i mostly miss my dad though, RIP ROBERT MURRAY
well, truly, they sound amazing...in concert...LIVE, however, as i remember, the mix part...they didn't need to DO much, The band has this amazing harmony about them, and if you ever got to see them Live....then you would be Beyond impressed. While everyone uses a mixer, etc, to make them sound Clean,they really don't have to DO that much, because they sound amazing without all that other sh*t.
No phones, just vibes. I’m so glad bands like Incubus blew up around this time. I feel like we lost a lot of the intimacy we had between artist and listener because of the constant need to record everything I’m glad the term “you just had to be there” was coined
With Incubus, you always get this kind of quality. My husband's favorite band, and I like them but not my favorite. But I have to admit that their live quality is unmatched!

Incubus was one of the many bands back then that actually played and sang with feeling and had the talent to back it up. Nowadays it's very few and far between that we get something as real as this.
Great band, and good dudes! Met them in Richmond in the 90s and was impressed. They came to HOB, where I worked the back door and they actually remembered. I took Jose and Kills on a search for a remote controlled helicopter, and was almost late for soundcheck. I wasn't working that day, so Jose smoothed over my boss and gave me AA pass and we hung out. Had a blast. My boss was not but hey, he got over it. Hoping they come back!

Truly the best, I love this band since I'm 13 years old. I am now 38 and I am still their #1 fan. I introduced Incubus to all my friends since SCIENCE and Make Yourself album. And until now, they are still thankful that I introduce this kind of music to them. Their live performances is as good as in Studio or even more exceptionally speaking. Thank you for all the inspiration that you given us. Hats off to you guys.

I have seen them live 2 times within a year! He sings this song on point every time the band always sounds great! I was so lucky to see them 2 times forever grateful! Seeing them live is such a privilege.

People are really becoming nasty and obsessed with so much bullshit like Instagram, FB etc. I remember listening to this song while having my free hr to talk to my girlfriend on our landline. One helluva live performance, very few can do this without the gimmicks, you know, the back up dancers, explosions and lots of twerking. Ah real musicians, i always wish they were there.
