Yeah great idea till they trap you and give you millions of dollars to work on the album and a couple hundred thousnad as an advance then your album flops and you in debt and stay trapped
Independent all the way man. Sure I could go with a label but I just think that if I do that I won’t have creative freedom. My buds Tom MacDonald and Dax are totally independent!
It depends on which type of deal you're signing. You don't need to give up your masters to get a deal with a major label, Olivia Rodrigo is a good example of that
You pay for padded stats in the music industry…thats the entire gist of it. You wanna make it seem like ur bigger than u are while being broke? Sign w a label. U wna have more money than ppl think u have while growing a genuine fanbase that cares about u? Go the DIY route…
Unless you have your own money and I'm talking real money where you can tell the labels fuck you I don't need you, then go with theajor labels. If you're not already established as independently then go with the majors
