Nationalism breeds Nationalism. In case of 1948 massacre, it was brahmin nationalism which feeds Maratha Nationalism. Marathas have no love for Gandhi, yet they used Gandhi's assassination as excuse to k!ll Brahmins. You know why? Because when Peshwai took control of Maratha Empire, they revived Worst form of Untouchability, They social boycotted other castes and favoured brahmin in all posts. At the end of Maratha Empire all the high posts were monopolied by Brahmins. Even jains and kayasthas were facing social boycott. Marathas became second class citizens under Maratha Empire because of Caste nationalism of Brahmins. Being 3% of Maharashtra population, they had more than 90% representation in Everything. So marathas were angry. They used Gandhi's assassination as excuse to end Power of Brahmins in Maharashtra. They burn down property of Brahmins and all power powerful brahmins were killed. That's how Marathas(so called OBCs) become Most dominant castes in Maharashtra. These RW pages are good at brainwashing and manipulating things. Brahmins were killed because of Caste nationalism. Same thing happened in Tamil nadu, 1% brahmins had 100% seats in Congress. Non-brahmins were getting brutally treated by Brahmin. Many powerful OBC leader faces rejection/social boycott from Brahmin. Brahmin didn't let any non-brahmins take any position in government jobs and Congress, then Dravid movement rised. Periyar born. Don't behave like pure angels. What I'm saying is truth, there was no point of k!lling brahmins after 1 year of independence. They got killed because they were behaving like Domestic Britishers. They also used to think they are superior to other indians.

As per Ayesha Jalal India was partitioned to weaken Punjab and Bengal. A united Punjab and united Bengal in a united India would make the political landscape look very different. 1947 was a disaster for Punjab and particularly for Bengal.
India was partitioned because hindu and muslims are two different nations with different laws, values, way of life, so they can't live peacefully as one nation..
I myself have done absolutely nothing so can't take any credit, but proud of my community and ancestors-Punjabi Brahmins for all their sacrifices and everything they went through so that I could be here today still practicing the original faith of the Punjabi's and still exist when so many have converted to other faiths. Jai Mata Di 🔱
Brahmins always gave everything for this land. That’s why every foreign ruler targeted them. Now, in a country they dreamt of, they are constantly targeted!! What a shame - Mother India weeps silently!!
The brother of my grand grandfather was one of those brahmin martyrs. People burnt his house down. Brought everyone on the road. Just an example. Yet all the brahmins managed to pick themselves up. Today, everyone has achieved something to be proud of. That's called the power of intelligence.
Power of power. Even the intelligence comes because of the privilege and power to study. But atleast they were good Brahmins so they utilised their power correctly. In some other parts of the nation they weren’t so smart.
It fills my heart with joy unspeakable that my people fought the British and muslims. We are demonised, attacked and threatened and yet I see no hatred among brahmins for other castes. May gods give us more strength.

Most of us have already migrated to better positions and better lives abroad, adopting and adapting to the cultures there. You go to the bigger cities in Maharashtra and you will find at least one person of these Brahmin families living in the developed world.
Take pride over ur ancestors even we all are proud of them but consider urself hindu first and Brahmin later. Be it savarkar or neta ji non one kept their Brahmins identity first they kept their nation and hindu identity first.
Of course it's a Bengali speaking about the Bengal partition. Otherwise we hardly hear about it on mainstream media. We've seen so many movies on the Punjab partition but tell me one movie which shows Bengal partition.
Because the whole story of partition has a high sentimental value and is synonymous with violence. Punjab partition is a story of population exchange of really high magnitude and bloodshed whereas Bengal partition story is more politically inclined and of strategic failures with lot less violence.
Another fact is Brahmins are dabang in UP but not so agressive but calm community in Maharashtra. So people from other castes blaming Brahmins for many things happened in past where there was no fault of Brahmins. Thats so sad. Maharashtrian brahmins are at forefront in Maratha empire and in freedom fighting both. That is remarkable contribution.
I think people don't even understand what he is trying to say. He not backing any caste. He is telling us how the fron warriors be it SIKHS, BENGALIS and BRAHMINS from Maharashtra were intentionally targeted and devastated taki azaad hone ke baad bhi india mansik roop se gulam or gareebi mai hi kakda rahe.
But this thing was faced by every community whether they are lower caste or sikh, Muslim or in particular women.....in peshwa rule,, many instances shows that Brahmin had made cruel practices against other caste....But ,i think some educated and just members of this community contribute a lot in Indian history...but in today's India we are not following them example swami dayanand saraswati,,Raja rammohan ray.....

Not "were". You should say "are". I have lived in Pune for some time. Ambedkar followers (mostly SC, ST, OBCs) are very dabang people there. You can't mess with them at all. Strange, Brahmins of north, states like UP loved Gandhiji back in those days. One call of Gandhi and all will come to join him. Why? Why this difference of opinion in North and West? All he said was "no two separate countries because two separate countries means two separate armies with trained soldiers and weapons. That's why no partition or at least have united army" that's what we have been taught. Right? To be honest all this Indo-Pak wars , Kashmir issue and Khalistan issue would not have happened if division of country was not done as per Gandhi. After death of tilak, brahmins became more focused on brahmin dominance rather than indian independence. Many non brahmin communities contributed to indian independence but brahmins registered in RSS which contributed nothing in indian independence. Shahu, phule ambedkar of Maharashtra flourished the entire non brahmin community of Maharashtra which resulted in its development. And more importantly, it was peshwas who weakened maratha empire by destroying other maratha sardars like Bhosle, Gaikwad, Kanhoji angre etc. and Peshwas actually rode the boat on the backs of Shindes and Holkars. This Glorifying a community that actually has done so much social evil under untouchability sad.

This expansion cost maratha empire direly economically. Furthermore wherever peshwa went, they actually defamed Marathas including in Bengal, rajasthan and Punjab. They supported infighting among brothers, looted Bengalis. To claim, bajirao was bigger than maharaj was a farce as he couldn't come closer to maharaj in politics, economic policy, administration. Brahmins were at the forefront for the independence and revolution and they were blamed by some Indians on the direction of the British. Why? The reason was simple one Brahmin leader itself is sufficient to destroy the enemy. Whether it was the Battle Panipat where the Great Maratha empire has shown their valor and sacrifice, whether it was the first revolt of 1818 Or the revolt of 1857 or the Indian Independence lead by Savarkar. One brahmin leader itself is sufficient to shake the bricks of the great forts. The reason is also simple they have the blessing of the Lord Parshuram. The name of Ram which was given to Lord Raghupati Raghav by his Guru, the Balaram who can destroy everything if he would have joined the Mahabharat war. Many don't know that the Lord Parshuram's original name was Ram but when Lord Shiva granted him Parshu and initiated his name as Parshuram. That signifies the learned Vedic Brahmin when they come into the war field to protect the society then it was the sign that Lord Parshuram by any form has to come to protect that man to fight for the injustice.
