15:12 Back then, the legal drinking age was 18 it didn't change to 21 until 1984. So if you went to a bar in uniform during WWII they would serve you no questions asked.

The drinking age was a state by state issue. It was 21 until the 70s in many states, the same as the voting age. It wasn't widely enforced though.

@@LiteralCrimeRave I served in the Navy 1970 -- 1975. Asian restaurants were the best. Underage sailors drank from California to Florida. Not on any military bases was under 21 allowed to use alcohol.

@@LiteralCrimeRave In 1971 some states lowered the legal drinking age to 18, 19, 20. 1984 federal Law changed it to 21 years of age.

Back in WWII many people brought their personal side arms, some their personal shotguns/rifles.. At least that is what my Great Grandfather (navy) explained to me.

Sort of. Twenty nine states lowered the drinking age, but most did so in response to the lowered voting age. Then the drinking age got bumped up to 21 nationally, which I think is *insane.*

You were allowed personal siderarms until the 70s, to an extent.

Kid's 5'8" and a a buck eighty. Yeah, he could pass for seventeen, especially if his voice has already changed. Me? I could bare pass for *ten* when I was 14. I'm 41 now and *still* have the voice of a 12-year-old. There have been times when I answered the phone and the person on the other end asked me to get my mom. In person isn't much better. No one seems to believe that I'm the *oldest* of the siblings. Probably doesn't help that I still *act* like a kid in many ways.

The main issue with underage drinking in the military is getting caught. Usually they don't care that much, but it's a bad idea to get caught with booze in your barracks during an inspection if you're under the legal drinking age. If you had a Medal of Honor under 21 today, there's no chance you'd get in trouble for having alcohol in your room. The medal has many perks.

I don't understand your content. why do you make these. your reacting to a historical video produced by somebody else. it's so lazy. if you want to tell those types of stories, do the research yourself. don't just steal somebody else' hard work

buddy just because you dont understand it doesn't make it wrong, reactions are legal and is acknowledge by youtube under fair use, people come here to see CG's take on it and not just watch original video in the end it's all on opinion isn't it? Fat electrician just google things and put out a video based on someone else's journalism and gets million of views and money, that's plagiarism so stop being on high horse everyone.

@chromewarnock9681 point still stands fat electrician did most likely copy every video he is doing from an original researched source. But there is so much more effort involved in his version than this fella. I also watch lots of reaction videos from lots of different things. but he is literally playing a YT video about a man in history were someone gives his opinion on that story and then this fella comments on his comments and the story. I'm surprised anyone would waste their time with him instead of the original YT video. as I said it's lazy and a cheap way to get views. I bet he will never reach millions of subs with that business model

You'd get more subscribers if you made your own content, rather than reposting amazing content creators such as Fat Electrician's work. He spent a lot of time researching, filming, and editing to create his video. Probably took him weeks to put together, and within a day of him uploading his several weeks of labor, you slap your face in the corner, and call it a video. It's distasteful, and you should strive to do better.

i understand what you are saying but this is how reaction channel works it's a vlog about something and in this case a video where people watch video to get my take on it and not just to watch original video, if i got a million views on it i probably would give all money i made to fat electrician because as you said it's not fair but i barely cross 1000 views and it dont matter, and i respect creators who if they dont like me doing reaction i stop making them and have done like lemmino and other who i dont react to anymore, but there are people who themselves comment on my video and have no problem with reactions, i didn't monetize my channel before but than youtube said they are going to run ads anyway and so i decide to monetize, i am a civil contractor basically i make big industrial things like factories and i dont have much time to put in youtube and even if i could i don't know if i can make a video like this maybe but i dont know.

@chromewarnock9681 all you're saying is that you have no idea what The Fat Electrician (or many other YTers) do to create REAL content. The Fat Electrician has spent his own money to go back to college for World History, he spends hundreds of hours in research, hundreds to thousands of dollars for editing, and works his a$$ off to make these videos. He can only upload a video a week at most due to the labor alone to put these together. Then, some random person waiting on Fat Electrician's latest masterpiece to upload, watches the video the same day it shows up with a crappy camera pointed at his face, says virtually nothing to that camera to add value to the work, and gets paid to be extraordinarily lazy. The phrase is lawful but awful. It's legal for the cop to shoot your dog when they show up to the wrong house to uninvitedly serve a warrant. That doesn't make it right. Just like it's legal to steal a hard-working man's creation if they add a tiny picture of themselves in the corner, and say an occasional "Wow" to claim they've added to the content in some way. Do better. Men should take pride in their work. This isn't work, there's no pride in this, and he's not a man if he thinks there is.

@@ThisJust-In that's your opinion buddy and keep it to yourself, like i said fat electrician plagiarize other people's work and i dont care how many hours he put in it googling things which even he says that's what he is doing in the end he is making tons of money stealing other's work and you people think that is something to take pride in like he went to some war torn country and gave first hand account of journalism or something, CG is giving his take on events of history and not some original content from fat electrician and people like me who watches that loves that and thinks that is a good content and he should take pride in that so your opinion of who should take pride in what keep it to your self and go bother channels that have 1mil subscribers who react to things and are making millions like XQC who basically watches video without giving any commentary, youtube classifies anything that adds original commentary counts as legit and so is this channel.
