Good call on the Dm tips. You can completely ignore the actual game and port the entirety of the encounter design concept directly into any D&D game of any edition once you know the 3e Stat modifier. Makes the entire proficiency system of 2e and skills system of 3+ redundant with nothing lost. Have an idea, judge difficulty, execute.
I've only played RPGs for about 39 years. I got this a few months ago and have been using LOTS from this for my Starfinder stuff. You can incorporate it into anything...even solo stuff. I love it 💕
Yes! While I've only actually played ICRPG maybe 5 or 6 times, I incorporate it's philosophy and core concepts in every single game I run. Timers, threats, and treats, baby!
I am about to order this. I was a huge fan of Hankerin' Fern (that how you spell it?) for a very long time and had incorporated many of his ideas throughout the years. I am in the process of researching rules lite alternative non-WOC and have stumbled across this. I am more than intrigued. What really sells me? Using the d12! This is one of the oldest jokes in our group. We are getting ready to play and one guys is picking out his set of dice, "Ok d6. I need a d4. I hate this d20, there is the good one. A few d8s. Two d10s. ...and, just in case I fall off a rock a d12" The falling-off-the-rock die still kills at the old guys table. Sells me on your channel too - I am all in with anyone that gets a good d12 joke. You get a sub my friend!
