About the speaker:
Mr. Anoop Vrajlal Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Mohit Diamonds Private Limited (Mohit Group) and a partner at Mohanlal Raichand & Sons, began his career in the family business at a young age and has over 40 years of experience driving the growth of the Mohit Group. One of India's oldest diamond businesses, Mohit Group has been a De Beers Sightholder since 1949 and recently became a long-term customer of Alrosa.
Mr. Mehta serves as President of Bharat Diamond Bourse and is a member of the Executive Committee of The World Federation of Diamond Bourses. He has also been associated with the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council for many years and sits on the committee of the Diamond Exporters Association Limited (DEAL).
For over 30 years, Mr. Mehta has contributed significantly to the development of the diamond industry. Since 2003, he has played a pivotal role in the strategic planning and execution of the Bharat Diamond Bourse project, which officially opened on October 17, 2010. His leadership helped position India prominently on the global diamond map by providing world-class facilities for the trade.
In September 2014, Mr. Mehta received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" in recognition of his visionary leadership and dedication to establishing and steering the Bharat Diamond Bourse project in India.
