Secondly USSR AND China structure is completely different . Having said this , you are spot on , China due to government and India grows despite government!!
look at gdp PPP. china's economy is barely 2.5 times that of india and we can catch up. nominal gdp is subject to exchange rate and it is not a proper indicator of real economic power. even if our income goes up but if ruppee depreciates then nominal gdp will go down. it doesn't show the real picture.
