I am awestruck, Shitala maa ka wahi mandir, wahi Dashaswamedh ghat, wahi riti riwaaz, this is what we Indians stand for, Culture. Imagine our kids and their kids watching their Varanasi through this footage. Thanks to the German person who made this video.

Due to non availability of Chinese foods people are slim and fat free

"Ende" - was this done by a German. Being a local citizen, I can affirm that things have changed a bit on streets, technology has made its advances, if you have money you can afford world class hotels. On the streets, If you won't stay alert you could get in trouble. But on the ghats and in the Temples things are same. Rituals don't die. It has not died in Jerusalem, Mecca and it won't die in Varanasi as well.

so nice and clean back than. ....people come across so much calmer. ....animals are so much healthier

@MichaelRogge I don't remember camels on the ghats, but many, many buffalos, no cars as the alleys are to narrow in that area. I love your back ground sound with car horns (1937), I guess you could fine "Indian street sounds without car horns." I do find Varanasi a place that only visitors who are experienced can survive and enjoy. I spent 24 hours there alone the first time in 1998 and one week in 2001 with a friend. Couldn't do it alone.
