Recite as defined by Google (Oxford Dictionary): repeat aloud or declaim (a poem or passage) from memory before an audience. say aloud (a series of names, facts, etc.). Examples: "he recited passages of Dante" "she recited the dates and names of kings and queens" So Rahul Gandhi clearly recited the durood. And Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is clearly one of the duroods, In fact, the shortest one. I have double-checked this fact right now with the scholar. Attaching durood to the name of prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is respect itself.
