Love the handshake at the end of the ceremony...

I got to see this in person recently and the video fails to capture the energy from the crowd. It really is something to experience: schoolgirls running up and down with giant Indian flags, people dancing to bhangra music, and, while security is tight, the guards are the nicest people in the world. There is no sense of animosity towards Pakistan. It's a sense of the two groups working together to close the border for the night. They shake hands and salute each other, like 'job well done'.

Makes you wonder how this tradition got started. "I can walk silly!" "Well, I can walk sillier!" "Well, my mustache is bigger" "My mustache puts your to shame"

You can smile as much as you want at this ceremony. But I wish there was something similar in every nation rather than wars

That was quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen on RU-vid. Respect to my friends in Pakistan and India.

They shake hands at the end, a great gesture, hand shake of peace and friendship.

I love this ceremony. Far from being silly, it has been transformed from a symbol of mutual hatred to one of mutual respect. See that handshake? The careful choreography? The matching uniforms? These aren't accidents....

both Indians and Pakistanis. let us be proud that this kind of border ceremony can never happen in anywhere around the World... thumbs up, if you agree...

Well i visited wagha border it was one hell of feelings..I also met four indian sikhs..they were from india but we became friends..i enjoyed my time in lahore..Lahore lahore hai!

It's a fair bit less silly than the Buckingham Palace guards, considering these blokes guard an actual border with actual tension.

I went there last summer. It was bananas lol. Most of the people are tourists from other parts of India that come in bus loads. The Pakistan side was quite empty though. It's impossible not to feel that pride for your country there. Now they are building so many hotels and high rises in the area so it will become quite the attraction soon.

We really need to have this on the entire mexican-us border, and the canada border. This would fix the border crossing issue.

i went to this before it was pretty damn cool i was on the india side of the border it was alot of fun but i could see that the pakistan side was in a more serious tone lol glad i was on the side that was having more fun

Every Pakistani is Indian there is no reason to get worked up who is better cause both Pakistanis and Indians share the same roots. Pakistanis and Indians originate from the same country and share many things just be one and stick up for each other no reason to be hating on each other.

@andikatjacobdennis Thank You brother, For a first timer it is very exciting and emotional occasion but if you go to that place more than once, everything seems pretty normal. These soldiers just show off to entertain audience on both sides.

It would be fun if Portugal and Spain had same border dance contests like this one. Just forgot, we dont have border control posts in EU :P
