What about Lautenberg-Specter amendment? Why preference for Jews and Christians persecuted? India did the right thing. Unfortunately they capped at 2014. They should have kept it open. They have declared their countries as theocratic countries and abuse minorities. Why should perpetrators of minorities should be given citicitizenship in India ?

There is a simple reason: On the night of 15 August 1947, many muslims who had supported Pakistan decided to change their loyalty and decided to stay in India. Hindus and Buddhists were very much in the cities of pakistan and afghanistan before that day but they are not today. On the other hand, Muslims in India except some are very much here in India. Today muslims are around 20% in India with is the same as theirs in who British Raj (south asia) in 1891. So in order to protect the interests of its voters which are Hindus and prevent a future exudos like in Kashmir by maybe a coalation army of China-Pakistan-Indian Muslims, we Hindus consider this act an act of self defense so our future generations are not pakistanified our uprooted from our own soil which we have civilized for milleniums. Wealth lost can be gained again but culture and honour cannot.

I think it’s ok to use such a tool in politics as long as the leader is working in the best interests of the country. After all, it’s not a bad thing administratively.

CAA is not applicable for Indian citizens and why we have excluded Muslims from neighbouring countries because they are in majority and there is no religious atrocities against Muslims in these countries . Now people will say why not Sri Lankan Tamils - Sri Lankan Tamil s were never prosecuted on religious lines so it cannot be equated … now opposition and half educated reporters who are bringing of article 14 .. no fundamental rights is absolute in nature .. Moreover we have Indian Citizenship Act, 1955 on which anyone even Muslims can apply for indian citizenship so in that context we are not discriminatory in nature

The reason why Christians have been included is because there are Pakistani Christians who have come to India and have sought refuge here.

Slight disagreement - those countries were founded on the condition of being Islamic states, so a Muslim cannot claim religious persecution and faster path to Indian citizenship (otherwise why the 1947 partition in the name of Islam, in the first place) .. The law is for the religious persecuted minorities in a religiously dominated state

Don’t quite agree, but reasonable criticism. I do believe given the context of partition and the specific religious nature of the neighbours involved, excluding Muslims from the fast track is justifiable. I wouldn’t have included Christian’s myself, but their inclusion makes it a more strong law in moral principle.

The Lautenberg Amendment is cited not as an example that India has followed, but that the Biden Administration is completely insincere in their "concerns", if they are concerned, they can ask their boss Biden why he voted for the Amendment, what concerns he had and how he overcame them.

Humbly disagree with you sir the amount of these people who are selected in India is so peripheral that it will not even constitute a 0.1 % vote gain. The law is meant to give citizenship to prosecution minorities which otherwise will face continuous threat of deportation and in such conditions, their life will be on peril

It's not the ones given citizenship who will make a difference in vote but the overall population who think the lawmakers are messiah for the Hindus.

Nonsense. CAA is very essential, it is just an administrative law to enable undocumented migrants from Pak, BD and Afk to secure Indian Citizenship. There is absolutely NO political angle to it.
