India Signs 10-year Deal to Operate Iran's Chabahar Port | Vantage with Palki Sharma
An Indian state-owned company has signed a 10-year agreement to equip and operate a terminal at the Chabahar port in Iran. This is the first such agreement signed by India to run an overseas port. Chabahar is located in southeastern Iran and could serve as India's window to Afghanistan, Central Asia and Russia. Though first proposed in 2003, the port project has been delayed by western sanctions on Iran and government changes in Tehran and New Delhi. India's foreign minister has said that the long-term agreement will lead to more investments from India. What does this deal mean for India's global ambitions? Palki Sharma tells you.

Kudos to India for signing the deal! India should take care of its economic and strategic interests first before pandering to any foreign interests. India also is a a founding member of the BRICS group of which Iran is a full member now.
