Mechanically helicopters are safer than aeroplanes. If pilot gets a chance he can lower the helicopter to very low level despite much damage.

@haris1328 Nah, man. Helicopters are statistically more prone to crashes while planes are safer. They have lower accident rates and can still glide if they lose power, unlike helicopters which require power to control descent. Every year there are millions of plane flights but only a few crashes. While for helicopters, it is much more common despite a lesser frequency of use.
