What is your recommendation whether to plan by yourselves or through some travel company? Because the self drive car thing is looking so fearful to have. Is it possible to get a driver who can visit us on his own risk for the car?

I went to Iceland, definitely for more expensive and I’m happy about that. Rather than saving money. Work for a bit more and go in 3-4 months. He didn’t had any kind of cultural experience such as drinking culture and Icelandic food. I spent around 500€ after reaching there and I think that was still on budget for 5 days!

Good information. I am going to Iceland in July and it is very expensive. Rental car alone for 7 days is $750, forget about hotel prices.. fuel is very expensive as well. It is a very pretty county!

Can i have rental driver as none of us can drive and specially when the maximum roads are covered with glacier, driving seat is exactly opposite side of what we usually drive and not taking any risk as you said they might claiming insurance charges if they wish so that's the think I'm lil bit worried about

Visiting in February and August is a while lot difference. The price shoot up to almost double in july- August. You never told that my friend, you just wanted to show that it's really cheap , which it is not actually🤷

Bhai....u r super chill. Ek question....i hv never experienced any layover in airports. How to transfer my luggage from a airliner to a different company airliner in a layover. Will luggages be automatically transfered to my next flight.

If you have booked one ticket for both the flights, the airline will take care of transfer. Also your boarding pass will mention till what point your luggage is checked in.

I bought a -10 degree jacket from Decathlon. That with a thermal and a sweater was more than enough for the whole trip :) Greenland was a different game altogether !

Thanks a lot for the info. Car booking insurance tip was very helpful. I am looking at the flight fares for any month in 2020 and getting fares above 60 k unlike you got under 40 k. Am I missing anything here?

We have only 3 days in Iceland. We are planning to stay one night in Reykjavik and 2 in vik...but accommodation in Vik are very high. So, can we stay in Reykjavik and do all the things in south Iceland? I know it will be a lot of driving. What do you advise?

Vik is quite far. You can may be leave early morning see the diamond beach and come back by evening if you have your own vehicle.

It depends. Iceland has a developed tourism infrastructure but Greenland doesnt have that yet. But if that is you want (raw place), Greenland is the place. My personal fav is Greenland.

Your chances are very slim brother. Iceland doesn’t need much immigrants. Even if you’re from a EEA country, you’ll face bureaucracy, let alone from a non-EU country. Tourism is probably the only thriving industry in the country for immigrants and I’m not sure whether you’ll be paid enough to meet the minimum salary in order to apply for a residence permit. Moreover, invest your time in knowing about the country and their culture. Wanderlust inside everyone would want them to leave their homelands, but reality is different. Ask yourself - why do you wanna settle down in a different country.

Offroading is illegal in Iceland. Dont just pick a 4x4 for offroading. Pick 4x4 if you're travelling in winter.

Bro ...I am planning to visit Iceland and faroe islands in September this year ...9 days in Iceland and 6 in the faroes ..likely to stay a day in Copenhagen..as I'll first land in Iceland and maximum stay is in Iceland...I am confused in which embassy I should apply..cz for faroes you need Danish visa mentioning separately of a visit in the faroes

Earlier Iceland used to be under Danish embassy only, but now they have a separate one. Going by the rules you need to apply with Iceland. Ideally speaking, nobody checked my visa when I flew from Iceland to Greenland as it was from a domestic airport, so that special mention of Faroe would not be required. But just to be sure, you should extend your stay in Faroe+Copenhagen to make it more than Iceland and then apply with Denmark.
