India: Train Accident Kills 9 in West Bengal | Vantage with Palki Sharma
A freight train smashed into the rear of a stationary passenger train killing at least 9 people, and injuring 50 others in India’s Eastern state of West Bengal. The goods train hit the Kanchanjunga Express which was heading to West Bengal’s capital city of Kolkata, from the northeastern state of Tripura. President Droupadi Murmu, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee have offered their condolences to the families of the victims. The Indian Prime Minister has also announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured.

Present situation of loco pilots I will explain on my knowledge. 1. Normal employees for two weeks 96hrs duty hrs but loco pilots (lp) work minimum 120+hrs 2.safty category other than loco pilots 2 night duties in week and after night duty they got night rest but loco pilots work continues 4nights working they will give night rest(present situation lack of loco pilots). 3.normal railway employees in railway got 52 hrs Pr in a week but loco pilots got 30hrs pr(weekoff) that is also not give on 7th day they give after 10th day now a days. 4.every Railway employee daily meet with their family but loco pilots as per situation 2-3 days after they will reach home. And lot of issues are there in loco pilots cadre that is not possible in this message please understand. No Loco pilot want to do accident they have Also family.This is mainly Government fault not at all staff.

I am Chinese, and I don't understand why in the 21st century, when taking high-speed trains is as convenient as using buses, India will still use such trains. This is simply a terrorist self destructing truck. India should not always talk about "confronting China". Everything you can use is far inferior to China. I hope the Indian government can put aside narrow ethnic hatred and do something valuable. The quality of life and safety of citizens are far more important than votes. If such a thing happened in China, at least 200 officials would go to jail. Good luck to my friends in India, it's very uncomfortable.
