Hey Sarika, I am that silent viewer who started watching your uploads couple of years back when I was deciding on coming to UK for MEd in my late 40s, leaving behind absolutely settled and happy job life n family. Just for that long held dream and aspiration of studying here n also like any parent, give my daughter an opportunity to gain good higher education in future here. Well, it’s one year now. Completed my course with a distinction, earned lot of praise and admiration from my university and lecturers and my husband gained a good teaching position in school here almost instantly as his subject is mathematics and there seems to be a flood for teaching positions in this subject in Scotland. Even I got good offers immediately after finishing my course. So I consider myself very fortunate in this regard. People have been very supportive and good here to us. But all said, I cry multiple times a day as I miss home and parents terribly. I just can’t learn to live without the very things I felt annoyed of when in Delhi… that hustle bustle n people talking to you randomly 😊. Festivals and occasions were the worst to deal with. The warmth of family and friends is worth all the minor cumbersome things we face at home. I agree that challenges are everywhere, life is not a cakewalk here either. People here question us why did we leave our beautiful country. They feel that way about our home 😊. I am so torn apart now.. like a greedy person I want both the worlds 😍. But can’t bear to lose that ‘ Indian’ identity from me. I have come to realise now only how deeply n truly Indian I am. So I guess, this emotional struggle will go on n I will be fraught with such painful confusions for sometime. But one thing I have decided upon clearly is… I am going back home after few years after gaining new experience from here. Scotland is and was my dream since I was a young girl and it really is a beautiful wonderful place to live in but no place like home n my country ❤.

And hey… we share a common surname too 😊. Bahar aakar apne jaisa koi bhi dikh ya mil jata hai to khushi hazarguna ho jati hai. Wishing the very best to all who are pursuing their dreams here. May you all succeed n always be happy. Only advice is, just be very aware of your situation here…. Give your best n try all the avenues… but god forbid, if you ever feel that things are not working out for you as you planned… please don’t get lured or tempted in unlawful promises… going back home is not a failure or punishment. I think it’s way way better infact… in all respects. I am sharing this bcz I witnessed few cases first hand and felt that nothing is worth that risk n struggle n money. Thank you 🙏

Hey Sarika, meeting you would be great. Please do let me know whenever you plan your visit. My husband hails from Ayodhya, and lived in Lucknow till his higher education. I come from Siwan in Bihar but owing to my forces background, grew up in different cities all over India 😊.

Guys please do not make a decision to come to the UK. Since last year somewhere around May-2022 the cost of living crisis has been drastically increased, however the salaries are low and didn't increase in line with rise in the market prices and inflation. It's really really tough for the accommodation as the house rents are skyrocketing and you need to spend 60 percent of your salary only for the rents and you will be left out with peanuts (after paying tax and rent) as I told you salaries are very less here except for few IT roles like software developers Dev ops and data engineers and so..All the best to everyone who is planning to go abroad for education and jobs. Hope this might be helpful

Hi Sarika.. Appreciate your efforts and time in making informative videos on various topics. I am still trying to find a job here in pharmaceutical CRO's or companies after having 10 yrs of experience at IQVIA, India. I could find the recruitment is slow and not positive even though with good experience and skills and planning to go back to India by March if I don't find any...I regret the decision of moving to the UK especially this year with high inflation and cost of living crisis and less employment opportunities

Really good comparison Sarika. Not that I value section 1 but I myself believe in all points from section 3. We neglect those points very much but they are extremely important for a professional to be successful in his/her career. Which directly reflects in his/her private / home life. But again just like you, that’s my point of view. So I chose to stay in the UK. But I also understand and agree to the fact that india is growing very fast and will soon catch up with the rest of world.

Brilliant comprehensive comparison. But you mentioned there is low salary for Nurses and Care taker people. That should be compared with their Indian equivalent salary. So it’s either a match or UK is winner for sure.😄 Also traffic, public transportation and proximity to travelling to Europe is also the points can be added for UK i feel.🥳 Note: i am in the UK for last 9 months.😊

You're right about the energy prices. The price increase is double compared to previous years. I work as a cleaner in a football academy. And my wage is above the minimum salary. You can have roughly 15hrs free childcare which isn't too bad. Our NHS is crumbling this is because the British government isn't looking after it properly. Though I have been lucky in getting appointments more or less right away.

So I have got my dream job In Uk from India , 10 days before received the contract letter , which is signed n returned .. after that I didn't hear anything from them .. about COS. Signing contract paper means 100% confirmation for the job , right ? How long it takes to get COS... Please guide ..
@starSha1982

signing an offer letter doesn't mean 100% guaranteed. If you get COS it's guaranteed. It will take around 1 day to max 4 months to get COS. Hope you will get soon.

My only point was that my way of explaining things may be different to yours . So instead of putting such comments , just use that pointer & use your calculation of 0 & 1 .
