I'd like to replace my stock muffler. This video helps but does anyone know the S&S Part number? Have a new 2025 Indian 101 I'm having problems locating this as most websites either don't go up to 2025, or they don't show any products for Indian?
The sound comparison at the end did it for me. I just bought my first bike ever, this year. Maybe next summer, or the one after, once I have some experience I'll finally get my dream bike (Indian Scout Bobber). Great video.
@@dropbearmoto Yea....you don't have to tell me, lol. I put 1200 miles on it in my first month. Have 1500 on it total now in 5 weeks. Thanks....LOVING IT!
@@four20braiseit36 On your advice, I just watched like three videos on the 101....I will definitely give this a test ride. Seems like people LOVE this bike. Thanks!
@@dropbearmoto yep just found them on SSCycles site! The chrome is out of stock right now 😩 hoping it comes back in stock soon. Did yours take long to arrive?
I will. Trouble is, we are about to hit the road on a massive trip and I am no chance of getting that done over the next 3 weeks as I am not near the bike, hate to do that to you, but as soon as I do I will comment here!
excellent video, thanks for this, sounds great! just brought a Scout Bobber Limited + home today and first thing that has to go is that "torpedo" lookin' muffler. I think the cap covering the modified bolt was an excellent idea. I'd like to do that to mine. I don't think I caught where that cap came from?
Does it sound better in person because I don't hear anything that drastic of a change. Also was it hard to get to the bolts to torque. Finally when is the video coming with db reducer off? Thanks.....
It is a noticeable difference. The comparison at the end is so much better as sound was on a better mic whereas first fire up was just an iPhone. It is a noticeable difference. Will do dB reducer removal this weekend am back from trip now
@@dropbearmotosounds good, look forward to that video. Just wondering if more exhaust options will be coming in the next couple months. I don't really wanna settle when I know freedom will be doing one eventually and the look of the combat is what I really want I'm thinking
I swore i didn't want a new exhaust on my 2023 scout rogue. A year later i have the performance air filter and i just got the freedom performance slip on's and i absolutely love it. I wish i could get the 101 but i still love everything about the rogue. It still has enough power than I'll ever need for the street. Thanks for the video it was good to see and hear what the 101 sounds like with a new slip on.
@@dropbearmoto it is a fun bike for sure. I thought to myself my next bike will be a sport chief but I love the scouts so much it might be the 101. I heard you talking about the FTR how is it?
@@axelfoley5155 FTR is next level for sure, but a very different bike - more sport bike than cruiser with an aggressive riding position and much more nimble. You should get to a demo day and take one for a spin! 🤘
I just ordered this in black for my sport scout limited. Couple questions before I tackle the install if you could please. How much of that bolt did you cut off and what tools were used in doing so? Secondly where did you get the black end cap to put over it? Still happy with this slip on??
@@cobras559 I used a metal hacksaw and cleaned it up with a deburring bit. Cannot recall how much but should have taken a little more as was still a bit of positioning to take off. You will see how much extra you have when you get to that part. The black cap came with the slip on from S&S. Enjoy 🤘
@@dropbearmoto not sure what you mean a "shifter"? Lol. My snub 8mm comes tomorrow, hopefully I can use a hammer to wack it to get it loose like I did the big bolt with the crescent wrench
Thanks! You will easily find the clamp, but it is not fixed by any screw/hex bolt, must be a tab release kind of deal or maybe even single use clamp, I just could not get access to solve it. Bigger issue is without shortening the bolt and having a stubby hex key, you will need the headers off! I was walking my Indian dealer through all this on Tuesday as they have not had to do them yet!
@@SteveCaruana-u9l it looks much better than stock. Not much more you can do with a slip on to match header. Only other solve would be a full system! 🤘
@@gaiustacitus4242 it can be further shortened, but any exhaust that deletes the OEM exhaust bracket will leave that bolt and for the weight saving of that bracket, I will risk it! 🤘
@@dropbearmoto - Didn't want to sound harsh in my prev. comment . Too much beer 😆 Someone really needs to use some imagination and come up other than a big long cylinder of an exhaust.
