INDIAN AFRICANS THE REMEMBERED PEOPLE OF INDIA 🇮🇳

I am on a journey to meet a unique community in India known as the Siddis or African Indians. They can be found throughout various states in India. The Siddis have contributed greatly to the advancement of India over the centuries. For example, Malik Ambar was a Siddi King (African Indian) of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate in the Deccan region of India. The African Indian Malik Ambar is especially famous for the Neher water system of the city of Khadki (modern Aurangabad). Malik Ambar completed the Neher within fifteen months, spending a nominal sum of two and a half lakh Rupiyahs. This city is situated on the banks of the Kham, a small perennial stream that takes its rise in the neighboring hills.

We have 40% African descendants, 40% Indian descendants and 20% mixed, Chinese, whites, Hispanic and others. I would love to visit the Siddi people of India, as lots of my friends here are Afro-Trinidadians. They are very resilient and humble people, and India should treat them as a great asset to its diversity. Respect and kindest regards to the Siddi people. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

Bro they have been in India longer than most Whites in US or Australia. So it's weird asking them about their ancestry. It's like asking a white American how they feel living in America or asking them about their European roots. 😅

The Portuguese brought them to mainly Goa. They staged a revolution in the early 18th Century and fled into the jungles of India in the areas they live right right now. They are Indian now. They came from the 15th Century onwards by the Portuguese most likely from the eastern coast of Africa. Africa is a distant land for them. If you were blind you would never know they were from African. I noticed they are very peaceful and mild mannered. The world chases materialism and we die we have to leave it all behind, we can't take it with us including the clothes we are buried in. I live in the US and it is hell. You never know when you will get shot and killed for your property. One lives in fear here protecting are "things". Unfortunately the super rich push materialism as that is how they get rich. I am sure they see the advertisements on the internet to buy, buy, buy and you will be happy when you buy it. And enough you are happy but only for a few days and they you chase the next thing to make you "happy"...which is a "fake happiness". They live in peaceful villages, I envy them for that but I am happy that they are living in peace and on their own terms.

Good comment. I agree. Sadly, the American way is now beginning to infect the Indians too - particularly in the urban areas. Much of rural India (about 70%) still holds true to its traditions. I hope they are able to retain that, but cant be sure. The 'Marketers' are doing everything in their power to slowly infect the rural areas too, all in the pursuit of riches (not of the consumers mind you, but the 'marketers').

Not many people know this: The Arab Slave Trade was bigger and and lasted longer than the Transatlantic Slave trade. Long before the White arrived in Africa the Arabs were capturing Slaves in Africa. The Arabs did convert a lot of the Africans to Islam forever ending the beautiful African religions they belonged to. And then came the Christian missionaries to Africa and sadly the African religions that sustained them for millennia, lost forever. The Arabs were the middle men in the trade selling from the African chiefs to the White ship captains. Sometimes they bought them from rival African chiefs or sometimes they captured them, themselves as they had gunpower trading with the Chinese. Yes, the Chinese traveled all the way to the Middle East in their boats to trade.(In Kenya a group of African living on an island north of the town of Lamu claimed that they had Chinese ancestry. It was long disputed before the advent of DNA analysis. When the Chinese decided to invest in Africa/Kenya they visited these people and conducted DNA analysis and sure enough it was confered they were telling the truth. Sometime around the 17th Century a Chinese trading ship encountered a fierce storm and ship wrecked on the island. Since there was way of contacting anyone they lived the rest of their lives on the island.) The reason you don't see the descendants of Slaves in the Middle East is because they were all castrated. This was done to make sure they don't mix with them. Mecca was one of the largest Slave trade market in the world! These are all FACTS that you can research yourself. Saudi Arabia only ended Slavery very recently in 1960 from pressures from Britain. GOOGLE ALL THESE FACTS!!! There is a great movement to suppress this information from getting out. So make sure to spread the TRUTH!!! I think it is worse than the Transatlantic Slave trade and they forbid them to have families or children. I think that is incredibly cruel. And it took so long to abolish Slavery on that part of the world. Remember it was 1960 when it was ended in Saudi Arabia. Very sad. That was a very cruel part in human history. In the US we have the wealthy grand Plantation homes which serve as a venue for weddings, wine tasting parties, and many social events including operating as a bed$breakfast, so that Southerners can relive and romanticize that time. To me these Plantation Homes are Holocaust sites and they should be honoring the lives of the people who were sold into this awful system instead of literally dancing on the graves of Slaves. Most Slaves were buried right on the Plantation grounds in unmarked graves. Today a large tent will be put up over this sacred grounds for rich folk to dance away for a wedding reception). And maybe it is better, if it even possible to say that, that they were at least able to have offspring and today their descendants live a much, much better life, and the sacrifices were not in vain. Sadly in the Middle East that was not the case. Sadly some say a form of Slavery exists in that area even today. Employers hold the passports not allowing them to leave and they have to work long hours for little pay when you consider how wealthy their employers, Arabs are. Not long ago I read of a Kenyan woman that was desperately trying to get away from her employer. She had left Kenya a few months after giving birth to a child. Her employer in Saudi Arabia owned an expensive breed of dog. He demanded that she breastfeed the puppies and he enjoyed watching her do it. Since she didn't have any money for a ticket home as she sent all her home for her family, she was pleading to the Kenyan government to bring her home. Her owner was also holding on to her passport. Once the story broke and I believe the owner videotaped her breastfeeding the puppies there was outcry in Kenya to bring her home immediately. It is so sad that people do such cruel things. They say a few thousands of people dies when building the stadium and the other buildings for the World Cup. Many were from Nepal. Sadly Nepal is very poor but the people are kind, generous and very gentle people. Oops! Sorry I got carried away...I was supposed to post a comment not an essay. 😂 😂 I hope the Siddi will prosper. I wish some rich folks will contact the young man and donate for him to get his radio station going.

People should know that The republic of India runs a quota system for people of minority communities like these which means government jobs are reserved for them as are places on courses and they are also given free education. Even despite this it is difficult as they are so socially and academically disadvantaged. But I doubt there are other countries in the world that take such a draconian postitive discrimination steps to protect their minority communities. The reason for this is that the person who wrote the Indian constitution was from a minority ( scheduled caste: low caste community himself) he was a genius actually I think and a gift to India.

I don't know where their ancestors were originally from, but I definitely know for sure they must've been shipped to India from parts of East Africa bordering the Indian ocean. I appreciate the video, but I have a differing opinion from our social worker friend in it. In my view, mobile phones are the contemporary equivalent of radios; they can both receive and transmit signals. In India, even the remotest areas now has reliable cellular coverage and decent internet access. You can even conduct a two-way live presentation using a RU-vid channel instead of a traditional radio station. It seems that our social worker friend in the video has a deep-seated interest in radio communication technology and electronics, which explains his aspiration for traditional radios and radio stations.
