The 20th edition of the annual India-US joint military exercise, Yudh Abhyas-2024, is underway at the Foreign Training Node at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan's Bikaner. This exercise, which has been a cornerstone of military cooperation between the two nations since its inception in 2004, is scheduled from September 9 to September 22. This year's exercise represents a significant escalation in both scale and complexity. For the first time, the scope of "Yudh Abhyas" has expanded to include a larger number of troops and a broader range of equipment.

India has hot weather that is why soldiers don't use gloves n heavy boots. During long combat time those heavy gears will slow n tire them very soon but they need to upgrade the helmets.

It's cause they are not used to scopes its not that it isn't available in armory scopes are there its just our regular soldiers prefer iron sights over scopes same reason many regiment reissue older guns to their infantry soldiers cause older guns have fixed bud stock and as most of our battalion is used to fixed budstock from aks and insas they feel uncomfortable using newer American guns same reasons indian army chose ak203 over carbine like sig Sauer chambered in 5.56. It's not just about modernization it's about efficiency. What's the use of having modernized weapons if you feel uncomfortable with it. You may argue to force it on them but as a person grows older it gets harder for them to get used new methods thus all the modernized guns are given to all the special forces from the get go and the new recruits as army have alredy addressed this issue. The new recruits and next generation will be given training in American modernized weapons from the beginning.
