I'm from northeast India. And here saktiman truck is known as kind of road. The most powerful all terrain vehicle which I know so far. Kindly make a video on saktiman truck only about engine specification and gearbox. As far I know, saktiman gearbox it's very special. They have locking systems and most of time gearbox use to broke. This was the main feedback of this vehicle. And repairing of gearbox is very difficult too. I have driven saktiman in hilly areas of my state. Thank you for the wonderful video.
When I was a child we used to have a Saktiman at home used for various purposes damn what a truck it brings back so many memories nice video sir keep doing these informative videos ❤from meghalaya.
Army's one tonne (Jonga 1 tonne) and three tonnes (Shaktiman) form a part of my nostalgia such that while other people (civilians) prefer their Mercedes and Audis, I still love our army's one tonne and three tonne the most. I have several fond memories of riding around in them as a child throughout the late 80s and early 90s.

There were three kinds of vehicle manufactured / assembled at the Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, 1. Shakitman, 2. Nissan 1 Ton, 3. Jonga.(design based on the land rover) This was around the 1970's. My late father (God rest his soul), was associated with Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur and I got to see them.
Hi bro I have some questions: 1. Where to buy an Ashok Leyland Stallion? (by auction or a new one) 2. How much it cost? 3. What is the mileage? and finally 4. What is the maintenance cost?
You can buy the truck at pathankot ambala pune. Cost is dependent on the condition of the truck. Mileage is 3-4 kmpl and don’t know about maintenance cost
मै जब NCC तब यानी ३० साल पहले shaktiman को ही इस्तमाल कीया जाता था. उसका डिजाईन बहुतही बढिया दिखता था. Camp होने पर हमे शक्तीमान मै से ही ले जाया जाता था.
SORRY TO SAY BROTHER BUT YOU HAVE ONLY MENTIONED BASIC TRUCKS IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD SHOWN SOMETHING ON TATRA BEML VOLVO IN INDIAN ARMY EVEN RUSSIAN MADE KAMAZ I'M SURE YOU MIGHT NOT BE THE ONE WHO KNOW ALL THIS BUT GREAT EFFORT :)
You missed most important truck Nissan one ton truck used by indian army from 1965 to 1999 along with Shaktimaan, though it was smaller than Shaktimaan and usually used from troop movements.
Video is very basic, not full either. LPTA existed long before 2015 in Indian Army. In Army also used various trucks in between (even if we talk of non specialized ones as u mention) there was Nissan which existed till 97 - 98, Army also used DCM toyota for sometime as well as canter and swaraj mazda (replacing Nissan 4W73) finally moving on to LPTA. Video also looked like commercial of Ashok leyland as well, as you talked way too much about it. BTW LPTA also has a lot of variants like Stallion. If you did start with jonga you should have also touched about what replaced it.
Hi I am working at ashok leyland, recently there was a lot of stallion production. Also a new type of truck as well a 6x6 stallion with the same cabin but ash colour i dont know what is that nor there was any stallion name on it. I was working at the rework section of this truck. All the interior was completely new for us. And apart from the stallion there was air conditioning as well.
all i know sir i that all these products were manufactured in VfJ (vehicle factory Jabalpur) This organization nowadays is no more than an assembly plant rarely developing any new products JONGA means Jabalpur Ordnance aNd Guncarriage Assembly thanks for sharing
Please correct following information 1. transmission system of SHAKTIMAN was manufactured in VEHICLE FACTORY JABALPUR Itself... 2. Production of LPTA 713 was started in 2000
Every thing of Shaktiman trucks Nisaan's two varients were manufactured inhouse in VFJ in there three plants: plant-1 for Vehicle's Cab & body, plant-2 for Engine & Plant-3 for transmission. Only Electricals & Glass items were not produced inhouse.
Please elaborate on the frontline vehicles that are used by the Indian army. Shaktiman were very capable trucks. Can they not be redesigned for added efficiency? They are still in use by civilian transporters in the north east.
While your language is Hindi, many defence lovers from South are not able to understand completely, so atleast,, can you provide English subtitles about important numbers and names etc.
The information is incomplete, between Shaktiman and Stallion, Tata trucks had been used for a long time too, in all the three forces. There even was a mini army truck which was built by Ferrari.
