Hi everyone. Many of you know I sell Indian Motorcycle, so I might as well take advantage of the sleu of pre-owned inventory that is available to me and bring a review to the channel for anyone who is curious about what Indian offers in terms of bagger motorcycles. I have already done the Challenger, and you can catch that video on my channel. Here's a link!
If you see this, comment, "Chieftain more like Beeftain"
Thanks for watching. See you in the next one!

We let the bikes speak for themselves on test rides, usually. Sometimes the HD guys can be a little hesitant in the showroom, but I usually let them know if they REALLY don't want to switch to Indian, they better not ride one. 😉😂

I’m new to motorcycles and I’m deciding on a batwing fairing bike. I wish the dark horse was offered in a gloss black and had stretched bags. Just my 2 cents. Of course i have a HD dealership in my home town but have to drive 100 miles to get to an Indian dealer. I’m an OTR trucker and planning on seeing what changes are made before i pull the trigger. New subscriber.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
Indian is starting to offer more gloss paint color schemes on the dark horse trim. Gloss black isn’t available yet, but it might be one day. With HD releasing some new updates to their baggers, I’m sure Indian will follow that up with their own updates and changes to continue pushing the industry forward. Indian has only been back for a little under 10 years now, and the aftermarket support for the stretched look is starting to show up more and more. Safe travels amigo, thank you for all you truckers do. Whatever bike you end up on, have fun with it and ride safe! Thanks for subbing. 😎

Face or no face, I believe I am qualified enough to provide insight and facts about the motorcycle that help prospective buyers determine who it may or not be for. Your riding experience is a personal metric that only you can truly measure and that varies from rider to rider. Ultimately it's up to the viewers to decide if it appeals to them, you included. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👍

Honest question, what can I do to help you expand your channel? Like I know no one here is in a rush to do it over the other motovloggers and reviewers. But I'm genuinely interested in seeing if I can help. I'm not exactly well off. But like me you love the hobby and you bring some energy to this sphere that hasn't been here in some time. Also, you're definitely gonna kill it when the CFMOTO 450SS and IBEX ship out. Just incentivize viewers to sub during that time with some other content
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
Hey Tyrant, I can’t put into words how much I appreciate your comment. The best thing you can do for my channel is just share the content in places where you think it belongs. I occasionally post on Reddit, Facebook, TikTok, and other various platforms when I think my videos will fit, but it’s met with limited traction normally. YT has been my go to because I know that if I put the effort into the videos, people like you will recognize that and the viewers will follow. You can link my videos in comment sections on other creators channels if you feel others would be interested, and of course sending the videos to your contact lists can be incredibly helpful as well. When the Ibex and the 450SS land, I have a feeling my channel will see some significant gains from those videos - maybe not immediately, but over time. Thank you for your kind words and your continued support. Ride safe, amigo. 😎

I find simplicity is my cup of tea... the more gadgets means more problems. So, locking saddlebags does nothing for me. Some reviews say the adjustable windshield wobbles in the wind. My big question is the engine and its reliability. My buddy's Indian bagger has electrical demons and suffers from fuel vapor lock. Is the stock suspension better than the stock HD suspension, which is just so so? I have read negative reviews on Indian warranty and support. I like my Street Glide, which in my opinion is their best looking machine.

How is the fit and finish now compared to HD? I know it used to not be good but has it gotten better or can it still be improved?
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
It has improved since the first generation of Indian motorcycles with the old controls from 2014 - 2017.5. Any models from 2017.5 - 2021 have improved hand controls, and the infotainment system being switched to Ride-Command is a substantial leap from the old LCD radio offerings. The 2021 - 2023 models have improvements to the antennae location as well as integrated battery tenders into the dashes. Aside from those small details, I think HD still has better fit and finish overall. If I had to rank HD and Indian's fit and finish on a letter grade scale, I'd give them an A- (90-92%) and Indian would have a B+ (87-89%). Something about the Indian MC line up still has a slightly "hollow" feel if that makes sense, but the ride quality is an absolute A+. HD's ride quality could improve, but their bikes feel very complete and precise for the fit and finish side. Best thing you can do is sit on both and fidget around with the controls and infotainment systems, then ride them! Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Hey Syko, thanks for watching! As far as I know, there are no technical differences between the two model years. I can't say that with 100% certainty though. Lucky for us, Indian Motorcycle has a model archive where you can pull up both spec sheets side by side to compare them. 😄 Links below. 👍 2019 Model: www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/2019/chieftain/chieftain-dark-horse/chieftain-dark-horse-white-smoke-2019-indian/ 2020 Model: www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/2020/bagger/chieftain-dark-horse/chieftain-dark-horse-titanium-smoke-2020-indian/

Im thinking of adding a new chieftain dark horse or Springfield dark horse to my collection. Only thing that sucks is my dealer here barely has stuff In stock cause I’m in a small town. Im 5’5 and weight about 140-145 pounds you think I’ll have issues being able to back the chieftain or Springfield out of a parking spot ?

That’s a heck of a rotation of motorcycles - nice! You’ll definitely face some challenges being on the shorter side, but it can be done. I’ve seen riders at that height do it. Get in the saddle of one to find out for yourself, and keep in mind there is a lowering link available for the Chieftain on Vic Bagger’s website if you want a little bit lower saddle. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

@@NicePantsLance Harley became Indian's competition in 1903 when HD started 2 years after Indian in 1901. I personally never compared them. Apart from both making V twins, they are differently designed engines, frames, technology and Indian owners do not have the Harley Kool-aid Cult mentality. BTW.... Mopar or no car. Lol✌️

@@Omni_Moto I like to 'ride' my motorcycle. If I wanted a computer to decide for me, I'd buy a Tesla.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Год назад
@@0Oo..oO0 With all due respect, I don’t think you’re quite understanding what the throttle maps do. It’s a system that allows you to ‘ride’ your motorcycle more aggressively when you want to, while also giving you the ability to dial it back when conditions are varied, or even not ideal, like when it rains and you don’t need a snappy throttle that has immediate responsiveness. If you want to ‘ride’ this Chieftain normal, just put it in standard mode. It’s the same as a standard cable throttle without throttle modes.
@tyrant1178

@@Omni_Moto one of the best things about ride modes is easily the fact that it can makes riding safer or more exciting. On the CFmoto line, I've been using the eco mode more like a rain mode. Less punchy and smoother acceleration. My buddies Duke is the same way. Ride modes can be a pain sometimes with too many options. But they're not a bad thing.
@0Oo..oO0
@0Oo..oO0 Год назад
@@Omni_Moto Thank you for the response. I actually am quite familiar with the concept. Two bikes ago, I had a 2018 Yamaha R1. It is equipped with Yamaha's "YRC" (Yamaha Ride Control) system, which allows riders to choose from several different ride modes that adjust the bike's throttle response, traction control, and other settings to suit different riding conditions. Here are the available ride modes on the Yamaha R1: Standard mode: This is the default ride mode for the Yamaha R1. It provides a balanced and responsive ride that is well-suited to a variety of riding conditions. A mode: This mode is designed for aggressive sport riding and racing. It provides maximum throttle response and reduced traction control intervention, allowing riders to push the limits of the bike's performance. B mode: This mode is designed for more relaxed riding conditions, such as touring or commuting. It provides reduced throttle response and increased traction control intervention, which can help improve fuel economy and reduce rider fatigue. User mode: This mode allows riders to customize their own settings for throttle response, traction control, and other features, and save them for easy access later. This can be especially helpful for riders who have specific preferences or riding styles. In addition to these ride modes, the Yamaha R1 also features a "Lift Control System" that can help prevent wheelies during hard acceleration, as well as a "Slide Control System" that can help prevent rear-wheel slides during hard braking or cornering. However, in real life ... there are many trade-offs: Reduced engagement: Some riders feel that electronic riding modes can reduce the level of engagement and skill required to ride a motorcycle. When the bike is doing some of the work for the rider, it can make the experience feel less interactive and engaging. Limited customization: While electronic riding modes can offer a degree of customization, they may not allow for as much fine-tuning as a rider could achieve through traditional mechanical adjustments. This can be frustrating for riders who are looking for a highly customized riding experience. Risk of complacency: If riders become too reliant on electronic riding modes to manage their bike's performance, they may become complacent and fail to develop their own skills and techniques for handling different riding conditions. Overall, the rider experience with electronic riding modes can be quite positive, as they can improve comfort, performance, and confidence. However, they may also reduce the level of engagement and customization that some riders prefer, and could lead to a sense of complacency if riders become too reliant on them. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and the type of riding experience that each individual rider is looking for. I see it as modern training wheels. It can get started in your motorcycle journey, but it does lessen the riding experience, to me.
