I had similar problems with an FPR Himalaya + ultraflex nib. I contacted them and Kevin immediately sent me a replacement nib unit without charge. No hassles, no delay. Now it works faultlessly. FPR is at the top of the pile when it comes to customer service. Happy to recommed them.

India makes fountain pens for the FPR and Noodler's. I am quite sure Kanwrite makes the Noodler's fountain pens and Click makes some of the FPR fountain pens... All made in India... Awesome. Good fountain pens for a very cheap price... !!! I do not have none of them so far... I would love to...

I so love the Kanwrite EF Superflex nib on an ebonite feed. They are totally awesome for a stainless steel nib. So far they are some of the best that I have found for modern nibs.

For full flex pens, the nib is half the battle. The other half is the flow, which I thnk is vastly underappreciated, and I find the flow the harder of the two to adjust.

Yup, ink delivery is key! Without flex means nothing. That Good Blue flex nib with custom feed did a great job of keeping up!

I got a Kanwrite Ultra Flex Nib thinking it would be a clone of the FPR (being that it looks identical) . To my surprise though, it was quite a bit stiffer. The FPR Ultra Flex Nib is a much nicer nib to write with. Smoother & flexier. I bought a second Kanwrite nib because my first one had a bent tine & I had to straighten it. Just in case I muffed it somehow I gave them another go. The second one under-performed just as the first one did. I'm not sure if FPR does anything to their nibs when they get them but they're doing something right. I was really hoping the Kanwrite Ultra Flex would perform like the FPR because of their price & availability. Alas, it wasn't to be. I'll have to give the brand Click a go. Fingers crossed.

I have spoken with Sajit, the owner of Kanwrite pens. They are the OEM for FPR's nibs. Kanwrite offers a wider variety of Flex and Ultraflex options. I have a Kanwrite Ebonite Jumbo ACR custom fitted with their Ultraflex nib. It performs much better than my 4 FPRs and with no issues in 9 months of almost daily use. Had I known them before FPR, I would have gone straight to the source. My FPR's have issues after using for a while: leaky converters and ebonite feeds needing constant tinkering.

This screwing converter will screw your pen up. I have ken right unusable as the cover thread is gone. Those plastics are really low quality. If you buy this pen buy some extra converter for them as this screwing converters are only made for Indian pens. Why the hell Those Indian pen don't design for the Standard IN. Cartridge??? Not a big deal here??? I have several they are unusable most of the pens I bought from PPR are burping heavily.All nib/feed and the section is very loose and they are worse than some Chinese pens. Noodlers pens are more solid and reliable. I have few no complain there. But all my Kenright. Guidar/ Himalaya pen are not useable. But FPR nibs are very good and if I buy next only nibs. Specially this particular FLEX NIB. All my buying from PPR includes several pens and flex nibs and feeds, They are great . I know there are lot of people who love the series of Indian pens from FPR but unfortunately they did not work for me.

Since FPR have made a pen named after jaipur, they should make another another named after Jodhpur/Marwar, preferably in sky blue, desert sand and kesariya variant, I would be the first one to buy all these three. I am really petty and can't see jaipur winning over jodhpur on this especially when the marwari penmanship used to be world renowned and much ahead than jaipur 😅

I love the Fountain Pen Revolution Guru fountain pen with a superflex nib. It is easy to flex while writing and prefer it over my Noodler's Ahab and Konrad. The noodlers flex nib is harder to flex and without me even pushing down on it the ink feathers a lot. I bought a fine non flex nib made by Noodlers ink separately and like that nib better. EBay is a good place to get fountain pens from. I purchased many of my pens there.

Dang, I have tried and tried to share some fun flex thoughts to no avail. I tried a comment and vague instructions on Goulet's lightening round under YOUR comment. FYI, if you share any links in a comment RU-vid will filter it. It goes into a the review section and they have to check all the comments in there and approve them. Not so easy for a channel that gets as many views as Goulet does. Even when I post a vid, I get min 5 spam comments instantly directing viewers to check out bogus sites. So all comments with links get grouped into the same category as spam and have to get individually approved.

I wonder if the ink flow would improve if you eye dropper the pen. The converter seems to be a weak link. Also, a thorough clean and flushing the pen may release any debris left in the pen from the manufacturing process.
@MrAndrew1953
@MrAndrew1953 3 года назад
Flex nib , stub nib, broads, pens have a high flow of ink so you go through a converter load quickly. Eyedroppers and piston fillers get a larger volume of ink but you do get burping with eyedroppers. I think if you keep the feed channel wet you keep up a good flow of ink using the eye dropper filler. Stops railroading.
@Doodlebud

FPR changed their converter on newer pens. Seemed to be an frequent issue for others as well.

FPR provides an ebonite feed. one advantage is that one can widen the ink channel to match the (ultra) flex nib. there is a Nathan's video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cLhA6jKGjjA.html (5:15 onwards) which shows how to do this. If the ink flow doesn't match the ultra flex it will railroad.

I think I might love my FPR Himalaya V2 Ultra Flex nib and ebonite feed as much as I detest the smelly fragile converter that it comes with! I tried to eyedropper it but the pen leaks everywhere now. I wish they made different converters because after mine cracked from being (carefully) twisted a few times for cleaning, even for $4 I can't bring myself to purchase a new one and deal with that smell again. I guess my only option is to drop 100x that amount of money on a #15 Pilot FA pen and the after market ebonite feed! 🤣

Of any flex pens I have, my hands down favorite is my Pelikan 140. Such a natural writing pen & performs wonderfully. Doesn't skip or railroad. Doesn't have as much overall flex as my 912 FA, but I feel it's a much better writing pen with better contrast in the thick & thin lines.

And, can't reply to your reply, so I will stay on topic here and thank YOU for your super informative reviews on flex nibs. I had watched your past 3-way comparison (Noodler's, Ultra Flex and a Pilot) and I'm sure you have many others on Flex Fridays ; ) Personally, I won't go so far as to fashion a special "over nib" (was that one of your suggestions?) It hides the nibs, and I'm all about attractive nibs.

My FPR worked well out of the box. Great flex pen. I have the V2 and you have to be careful with air locks that affect flow. If it sends out blobs of ink, flush it out and refill. Plus, a bit of silicon grease on the converter threads prevents leaks without over tightening the tiny plastic threads. I'm in the UK and the after sales service at FPR is second to none.
