In the end the Martians were defeated and Humanity was saved. And it was not tanks, bullets or soldiers that brought the Martian Empire to it's knees but that sweet angelic voice which God in his Infinite Wisdom placed upon this Earth, Slim Whitman.
My Dad would play Slim Whitman all the time, and although I did get to love some of it, the Indian Love Song was always nothing but toxic. I laugh every time I see this scene, and it always reminds me of my Dad putting on a record. It is actually a good memory.
The 31👎 are Martians after seeing what this song has done to their kind. Watching the movie now on Warner TV. One of the best, *star-studed* alien spoof movie there is.
Few years ago when I first discovered the Tube I tried to find music I heard on the radio when I was little ie 1950’s off the radio Found slim and this song So nice it’s getting a second round here x
Personally, I prefer the original due to the particular resonance of the steel guitar and reverb that gives it a more haunting and ethereal quality, but both versions are great.
I once asked Slim what he thought of modern country music. He said they hire the drummer first and then hire the rest of the band with whatever money is left.
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes. The Tomatoes were killed by a song called 'Puberty Love' Mars Attacks. The Martians are killed by the song 'Indian Love Call' Love truly conquers all.
Sylvia Sidney also starred as Juno the harried caseworker of the hereafter in BEETLEJUICE (1988), also directed by Tim Burton. She was an absolute joy. Who’d have thought that Slim Whitman would be an effective weapon against the Martians?
Imagine Mars Attacks! being made today - there is NO way that this would be the effect the music has on them. The producers would be much too scared by the backlash this may cause because it's "unnecessarily brutal". I guess they'd just.... fall over or something. WELCOME TO THE TIME OF "SOFT CINEMA"!
who came here in 2021 to remember the song that killed the Martians? And he believes that this will help in the fight against the new pharma-fascists. New pharma fascists, who are destroying our freedom for the second year and making a plan demia.
@@oskarrimanetz funny you say that I had a dream in 2016 myself and seniors, i was older in the dream were taken away to camps very much like hitlers..I managed to hide for a short time but was eventually caught and then I woke up..souds crazy but it was my future self warning me what was to come
I take this song as a metaphor of God protecting the old lady by keeping her focused on the call of God, and in the end when everyone realises that the music (and lyrics with talk of being called) saved them. That's what killed the aliens, they were evil and couldn't stand the call.
Ever wonder why the time line is in like the early to mid 90’s but the army and its technology and vehicles look like their straight out of ww2 and the Korean War?
After watching Star Trek & Stargate movie and TV series and franchises... Plus seeing quite a few UFOs... Plus joining Army Military Intelligence decades ago... Plus studying history of religions and how charlatans lie, deny, and manipulate... Thinking of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen while watching these wannabe "lords" show their displeasure at the music... Yup, this universe is quite diverse. Not all music resonates with all minds. Hopefully our neighbors are friendly and polite, wherever we find ourselves each night. Hugs and good vibes y'all. 💗🌈💗🌈💗🌈💗🌈💗
Oo-oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo-oo When I'm calling you Oo-oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo-oo Will you answer too? Oo-oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo-oo That means I offer my love to you to be your own If you refuse me I will be blue, waiting all alone But if when you hear my love call ringing clear Oo-oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo-oo And I hear your answering echo so dear Oo-oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo-oo Then I will know our love will come true You'll belong to me, I'll belong to you Then I will know our love will come true You'll belong to me, I'll belong to you
