Indian Moon Rover Pragyan has successfully completed its Chandrayaan-3 mission on South Pole of the Moon, gathering comprehensive measurements and data on various aspects of its operational environment. Equipped with sophisticated instruments and sensors, the rover meticulously analyzed rock composition, soil properties, atmospheric conditions, and radiation levels.
These quantitative measurements provide valuable insights into the characteristics and dynamics of the observed area, aiding scientists in their understanding of the Moon's South Pole. Pragyan traveled 100 meters on the Moon's surface. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has confirmed that the rover is now in sleep mode, with its APXS and LIBS payloads turned off after transmitting their collected data to Earth.
With a fully charged battery and a solar panel oriented to receive sunlight at the next lunar sunrise expected on September 22, 2023, the rover awaits its awakening for further assignments. However, if the rover fails to awaken, it will forever remain on the Moon as India's lunar ambassador. Mine final renders also included, showcasing rover's activities and surroundings.
