If they made it up then they can spell and pronounce it however they want. I don't care. Secondly I see it written in Hindi in both ways. Some times as ऋतिक at others as ह्रितिक . Internet search says ह्रितिक means 'from the heart'- if true, then it is more likely ह्रितिक and calling it ऋतिक will only deshaj form. I only objected because I do not want anyone to be confused that Hrishi is to be pronounced as Rishi as a rule. For example Rishikesh comes from Hrishikesh but Hrishikesh is shuddha while Rishikesh is deshaj or ashuddha. (colloquial ) Hirshik means senses and Ish means lord. Hrishikesh means lord of senses and it's a name of Lord Vishnu. But calling it rishikesh one may think it's something to do with rishi ke kesh aka hair of rishi. Do you understand me now? In Hindi or Sanskrit it is important to not miss any letter. Celebrities of course make up words and spellings - sometimes for uniqueness or because of some numberology shit.
