Thanks for watching. They haven't changed much so if it is in good shape it should be good. The only difference I can think of is I don't think the 17 has ride modes which to me in no big deal to me, I leave mine in tour all the time anyway. Let me know if you have any questions. @@IdahoMtnRider Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure on the ones without ride mode what that was the equivalent to. My Super Chief has "standard" mode and I tend to leave it in that (versus Tour or Sport). I really don't like the Sport mode so I didn't know if the bikes without any modes felt more like Tour, Standard or Sport. Thanks again.
Love my '20 Springfield in burgundy/titanium. Coming up on 14k. I thought it would be a weekend day-tripper, but it's become my daily ride and the car sits in the garage on a battery tender because I'm having so much fun as a returning, mature rider. Planning my interstate trips now.
Approaching 27 K on mine. Had it out for the first time today since last October. Man its been a long winter. I have a KLR as a daily in the summer, so the Springfield is just a pleasure bike. Love the long trips as well as the weekend rides, I am sure it will serve you well on those rides. Ride safe and enjoy your Springfield.
My 2021 came with Metzelers., as you say. I’ll be interested to see what kind of wear life they have. Just deleted the passenger seat, and installed the chrome luggage rack. Also installed the solo seat grab rail. Bike looks much sleeker. I’m a large cat but I find my stock seat amazingly comfortable. Really enjoy your thoughts about this dream-come-true motorcycle. Thanks for watching. Like you I am interested in the wear on the Metzelers, I know some of the people I know have replaced the Dunlops with those but no report on wear from them. Have fun riding your "dream-come-true motorcycle" because it is awesome when that happens. Ride safe.
What's your take on indian springfield..Is this a bike to go for ...Engine life ...performance ...Life of engine ...?? Pl suggest shd I buy as it's very expensive bike!!
Many years of chip sealing on a lot of these old county roads. This is actually the old highway before I-15 was built. Hope the weather is good up your way. Take care.
Yes you can, but with the stock seat it requires more stops to make the ride comfortable. With an aftermarket seat the rides between stops can be extended. I put a Corbin Touring seat on mine and now those long rides are even easier. Look up my review on the seat for more info on it. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Well that comment went when it shouldn't have, lol. Anyway, I'll have to see how the Metzlers do. Living here in Houston I thought about an oil cooler but unless it has a fan, the oil cooler isn't doing much sitting at a light. I decided to go with a set of Love Jugs to keep air moving over engine. What oil are you running? I went with Amsoil 20w-40 full synthetic for Indian. I feel that with the Amsoil and the cooling fans it's helping with the heat. Thanks for the video and ride safe.
I was using the factory engine oil while it was under warranty and that was the oil I had the problem with. I have since switched to Mobile One V-Twin Synthetic 20w-50. With it I have seen smother shifting than before but have not had it in the hot temps yet. Those cooling fans might be the ticket down there, Thanks for posting that tip it might help out someone else that lives in one of those warmer areas like you. Take care.
