I love fusion and believe strongly it should be with deep respect to the cultures with an understanding of what is being expressed and why. I think everyone did a great job dancing, especially as it is not of your native land, but this song is certainly not appropriate for this style. In your innocence and desire to learn, I hope and request you do research on the life of the composer and meaning of the song. Keep dancing and putting your heart into what you love, but understand what the song means also. Thank you.
It's really beautiful unlike most of the fusions I have seen. Having said that, being trained in Indian classical dance myself, the costume choice stood out to me as super weird. The bra with a shrug and palazo. But maybe that's necessary for belly dancing i dunno
This dance is insulting to the song. This song is written by Annamayya praising lord Balaji ( Venkateswara ) who is considered to be Kaliyug Vishnu Avatar. Corrupting this with belly dancers is defamation.
Lol I don't know know who told these girls that this is Indian tribal dancing somehow. Classical Indian music, nothing to do with any tribe, and the actual dance was badly performed classical bharatnatyam plus awkward and generic belly dancing moves that they saw on some Bollywood item girl video I suspect. Don't call it tribal just because you saw brown people do it on TV, guys, there's a very specific meaning to the word tribal on the Indian subcontinent, tribal is folklore, it's lower caste, it reflects the forest or pastoral life of a community, not the courtesans dancing for kings. Odissi, bharatnatyam, kathak - Indian classical dance. Santhali, Naga, Assamiya - tribal dances from (only) East India, there are hundreds more from across the country. Whoever choreographed this/named this video could have at least googled a couple of these things. And frankly the costume designer should be shot.
It's TRIBAL Belly Dance. Not meant to be Tribal Indian. Just plain old fashioned Tribal Belly Dance. Costumes are correct. These moves are typically Modern Belly Dance Tribal. Not meant to be Bharat or anything else particularly Indian. I'm originally from India, & have belly danced Middle Eastern style many years, seen Tribal performed many times. What do you know you ignorant person. Have you done Belly dance or Modern Tribal Belly Dance or even been to see any performances. Bet you can't do with your body what these girls can do. You're full of BS. Don't watch. Go read a book or play video games.
