Greetings from Mauritius. Amazing how the people of Indian origins hung on to their culture and traditions wherever they went. We are now at the 4th and 5th generation of Indian origins here, still celebrate weddings like in your video, same food, same fake banana/traveller's palm leaf to eat the food out of and so many other similarities except we're more French speaking than English speaking but most of us still are able to speak or understand Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telegu, Bhojpuri. Amazing. Keep'em coming, I'm really loving those vids.
I am from Kolkata , West Bengal, India. I deeply appreciate as to how the Indian diaspora in Guyana, Fiji, Mauritius, Suriname ,Trinidad, Tobago etc. are still maintaining the traditions of their fore fathers who went over to those places chiefly from Bihar and Eastern Uttar pradesh to seek their fortune. I was posted in Bihar for over 11 years . Hence my love for the culture of that place and the similarities in your countries. Although my mother tongue is Bangla, I can speak Hindi and Bhojpuri which I picked up in Bihar. My good wishes to you.
Thanks for sharing Hindu wedding ceremony and celebrations in honour of The beautiful Bride and Groom .Blessings are sent their way for Productive, fruitful wedding bliss of this life time together. The entertainment and beautiful vibrant decorations are much admirable.....The Tassa group is awesome....keep it up....I am emotional at the sounds of the Tassa.......GOD BLESS ALL THERE.
This seems like Eastern UP Purvanchal Indian style of wedding...The ritual where " mama" or maternal uncle is called "imli ghotai". Here uncle offers mango leaves or beetle nut leaves to groom/ bride, they need hold between teeth and release.. this is done to ward any vices or evil eyes....Mama then gives shagun (mostly money and clothes) to her sister and gold ornament to the bride..
Fantastic to see Indians keep their roots, transitions and ways of life anywhere in the world and do it with enthusiasm and more. The picture of Ganesha at the start of the video made it that much more special.

Amazing of seeing such cultures and traditions are still prevailing wherever Indians origins are still kerpingb their forefathers traditional cultures..wow, it's too good. Good wishes to the new bridegroom...Bravo..❤
Nice video, good to see the Indian traditions being continued in Guyana. But one suggestion is for the folks to get past "kya hua thera vaada" at wedding receptions, please 😅. Indian Bollywood music has advanced way beyond, got an Oscar! The music, esp for a raucous wedding reception is frozen in time.
I'm guyanese Indian american born Muslim man I am 18 years old and I prefer old bollywood then new bollywood. Many indo guyanese and indo Trinidadian grew up with old bollywood we play it our parties all the time. Muhammad rafis song are very popular in guyana and Trinidad. Kya huda is very popular song for indo Caribbeans , we love it
I was interested to know what happened to those indians who left us approx 200yrs ago ....they have turn mauritius into paradise fiji guyana seems to be prosperous....good you people stay there one day i will visit
All the credit goes to your ancestors to pass on the HINDU SANATANI wisdom values and traditions and more credit to the present generation to practice it and passing on to the next generation . We are in debt to your ancestors that even under difficult cicumstances they preserve it
Fantastic vlogs. I admire your relationship with your husband. Raj is always so humble and with endless smiles. You're ❤️ blessed to have each other. Many happy years together ❤️ 💛

Hahaha i thought it is a hindu wedding. Climax it is inter religious it is between hindu girl and converted hindu i suppose. I must agree hindu versíon of the marriage was masti dance and music. Pastor came. I stsrted the writing rhe comment. God bless the bride and groom for happy and prosperous life ahead.
Hi there, the leaves are called puri leaves. In India I notice they used the banana leaves. It is believed that the leaves are a symbol of fertility and prosperity in the Hindu religion.

Hello my dear, thank you for watching. I’m an East Indian. Guyana is a Caribbean country and yes there are a lot of Indians living here. My great grandma had came from India .
Guyana is in South America but we are considered west indian or Caribbean. Guyana is not in Africa thats Ghana a different country then Guyana which is south America a different content. Although the are Indians in Africa. But they are mostly from south Africa.
