Thanks man! I had a ton of fun filming it, and those always turn out well when I actually enjoy it. Also, the Michigan dunes are way cooler, go up to sleeping bear instead!
LOL gotta love random Nuclear stacks... there's a lot of things I could say, this was a great vlog! You seemed REALLY happy. You need to do this more often :)
excellent vlog and solo adventure. I have been itching to get in another day hike at my favorite place near me but work and home/family commitments have kept me from it for now
And soon did. Hiked what used to be called 7 Caves not far from home. Changed quite a bit since a land preservation trust took it over. My wife and I haven't been there since I proposed to her 14 years ago.
I asked you the same question about people looking at you strange when talking to the camera. lol I also read Andrew's comment about the Sumac to be made into lemonade. He even looks for wild edibles in videos :) and lol Bob " uptrail71 "
Sheik El Robby.. My buddy Terry I work with is from Michigan City and who knows! I've heard you can camp up there at the Dunes too.. Did you eat at Kim Lee's?
It is the NIPSCO coal power plant. You are seeing a cooling tower to cool water put back in Lake Michigan. The plant will be gone by 2028 as they don’t need the power.
I was just using my phone, but I actually just found out abouyt a great tyrail app that you can get fpr when you gdon't have signal, but I forgot what it's called. I will find out again and talk about it on the vlog maybe.
There is a hiking app called the Hiking Project. It is an REI co-op app. You can download areas before you go and then use them offline. www.hikingproject.com/ Also it gives official trails only so there isn't an accidental off trail mishap.
***** Many sumac fruits (these ones are staghorn sumac) have a reddish powdery covering that taste sweet and tart like lemons. If you soak them in water you can make a lemonade-esque drink :) Good stuff! -Andrew
